Hot 96.9 First Song?

sounds good to me but what do i know?? That's the state of today's radio unfortunately but hey its something new a different and i will be listening a lot!!

well the real difference is they mix in the throwbacks!

29 minutes into the new format and now the repetition,
two Rihanna spins in a half-hour with "Rude Boy".

Might we hear "Diamonds" before Noon?

Does every song sound weird to everyone else too? Can't put my finger on it...I've heard all of these songs a million times and they all sound a little different/off...

Maybe that's it - I couldn't tell if it was speed or pitch. Seems like speed is correct but pitch is down? I'm not hearing things am I...?

And a third Rihanna song "Diamonds" in under 50 minutes. Uggh.

I know it's got to be always about Howie, but I think he will be happy that he's on WRKO now. (Even if he complains for show). ;)

It's common for top 40/contemporary dance/rhythm/urban/churban stations or (whatever name you want to call this lousy repetitive music) to turn up the pitch to make the songs run faster so they can squeeze in as much commercial pap as they can, so the songs may sound like the vocals are on helium, as well as autotuned.
My tastes still transcend my age, I like music that is not over produced, and Is avante garde, progressive or Blues, or Boogie rock

Can you tell I'm a bit disgusted? Although I couldn't stand the ultra right talkers on WTKK, I loved the news every half hour, and the traffic and weather, and Jim Braude, John Batchelor, and Joe Ligotti were intelligent and fun to listen to. After 13 years of floundering, WTKK sounded like they were headed in the right direction.Of course the Greed Heads in corporate, had other ideas, so this is what we are stuck with. Thank You Cadillac Ranch, Pebbles and Bab Bam.

Just heard Pebbles saying she made the switch. They must still be building the studio, sounded like she was recording in a closet. Hate to say it, but the stunts had far better on air execution. Right now Hot96.9 sounds like it was thrown together a half hour before it went on the air.

Exactly. This can not be the station Boston waiting for.

I think the music mix is perfect. JAM'N is screwed. They will most likely end up going all new hip hop/hit music or try to throw in more throwbacks to combat WTKK.

I don't think this is the case of greed heads. This was a case of a format that is expensive to run and not turning a profit. Would you continue to run your business the same if it was hemorrhaging money every quarter, just because you like it?

Be glad it's at least going to be live, and not a PC locked in a closet like 92.9. THAT is a case of greed, but without 96.9 pulling down the cluster, perhaps that could have a few personalities on it too. I know, I'm shooting for the moon here, but hey, you gotta dream.
