IMHO, it’s basically an updated "Star 93.7" for 2013. One of their liners even states "The Rhythm of Boston".

I sense a failer here.No way are all these stations going to be around a year from now.yes they are all the same with a slight difference between them all.

Maybe not a WCOZ redux, but I do think CC would put "The Harbor" on 94.5.....would really make sense if you think about it.......

Pebbles just announced that she will be starting in mornings after the conclusion of the 13,000 songs in a row.

WAWM 94.5 Conservative Talk for the Angry White Male

Coming soon :)
Or Perhaps "Fox Sports Radio" on 94.5?? Look at what happened in NYC, long time "KISS 98.7" became "ESPN Radio 98.7" It still sounds strange hearing "ESPN Radio 98.7"

I wish JAM'N would go back to Urban, maybe this will finally make Clear Channel cave and try to go Mainstream Urban again. In between this Amp and Kiss there's not a single song unique to JAM'N.

My other school of thought leads me to believe this station wont last very long because its not urban enough to get urban listeners and its absolutely nothing new to get suburban listeners. Hopefully HOT or JAM'N will move urban but I doubt it because one of them would by now. HOT 97 via phone it is for this inner city teenager....(even though they are increasingly limited in their playlist as well, I appreciate the urban talk)

The fact that I don't understand something is nothing new. So it's no surprise that I don't see why the 96.9 format switch has three topics and around 900 response posts in about a week on this board. Didn't 103.3 do the same thing a while back? There was certainly some discussion, but I don't recall seeing anything approaching this response. Why is this so much different?

My guess is because 103.3 was a straight switch, and 96.9 stunted for 6 days leading to all the faux PDs to speculate (and I consider myself a faux PD....LOL)

I think you're probably going to get your wish with Jam'n. As for Hot, you are not there the demo they are looking for. 25-54 women who likes it more rhythmic. But not to the extent of either Evolution or Jamn. Essentially Star 93.7 reborn.

The Amp switch was pretty quick too, the news breaking at 3 pm one day, then the flip 21 hrs later

(my post June 27):

103.3 changes to Top 40 format called AMP...Classic 60's,70's,80's moves to HD2 starting tomorrow(6/28)

Streaming it for awhile online, and so far, I'm not very impressed. Little imaging with boring cold segues, and way too hip hop/urban focused. I would hope it would feature more pop/dance rhythmic gold. The old Star 93.7 was a far better rhythmic AC. This sounds like the Movin stations that flopped. Granted, I'm not in the market, but is urban/hip hop still that big there (cause it isn't in most places anymore). Anyway, I would've hoped for a more pop/dance leaning rhythmic AC (like Clear Channel did at its rhythmic AC's a few years ago). As it stands, for me, Evolution 101.7 is by far the most interesting debut in Boston lately.

The new station is no different from any other station in Boston playing the same crap over and over on six stations, the throwbacks are awesome but the rest is no different and they don't even play the real version of As Long As You Love Me how lame is that. not a good format just same old same old .
