There is no way they are playing 13,000 songs in a row. No way. because I heard the same song played three times between 6:30pm-Midnight, as well as a few other songs played twice or three times in that time frame.
No way in he$@ is this "HOT" No way
"HOT" is usually Urban (example "Hot 106" Providence, "HOT 93.7" Hartford, "HOT 97" New York, "Power 99" Philadelphia)
What they should do to make themselves better to stick with this format, is (Play More NEW Urban AC) Program Management needs to look at "FMQB" look at the charts, there are about ?? 25-30 Urban AC songs, (Play ALL), with what they are playing now, put on "The Doug Banks Show" (There You Go, there will be your "HOT")

If they continue like they are now, they should've just stick with the name "Nova" not "HOT"

"I'm sorry, but "Funkytown 93.7 HD2" is way better than what is on 96.9 right now.

Of course there are going to be a ton of repeats. They played 3 Rihanna songs in the first 45 minutes yesterday.

Ok, I'll be a smart aleck here...I'm guessing 13 songs an hour 9 am 20 hours later approximate...286 songs played so far 12,714 give or take to go in the 13,000 in a row. ;D
hahaha good one

:'( Also, please tell me. How, when there was, and is, no Job Opennings listed, How did Peables got hired to work at "HOT 96.9"
Please tell me how these things happen?
For real, there is no Job Listnings (Greatermedia.com) On Top Click "Employment" "Boston"
Please tell me how did she get hired?
What if we want to apply. We can't because there is no contact info for Program Management.
Please tell me why and how this always is in Radio?

It's called connections. That's how people get jobs these days. Not just radio, but any industry at this point.

Don't know what they doing with there music, Alicia Keys and This Girls on Fire 2 times in a short time in 1 hour. ???

Something is wrong with there playout system, everytime the same song. Also what they called the 'throwbacks'. Can not be the intention.

And a again Kid 'n Play. Pff what a deception. This station starts too early. Louzy imaging (when you hear it, it's not that much at the moment for a new station), playout system don't work well. You only can make a first impression once!

Er, maybe GM read in the trades that she got laid off and——knowing her obviously public work history——called her with an offer? ::)

... and a lot of their imaging is playing out over the vocals the the start of songs. Sounds like some tweaks need to be made - same thing happened over at AMP when they launched. Maybe they need to tweak the intro/outro cues in their playback system.

I heard them say the beat of Boston I was right all along :)

They've also been saying "The Rhythm of Boston".

I know I know but it was just funny how some of us said the beat of Boston, then they said it that's all.

Should've kept Mike FM on 96.9! There are adult hits people in Boston, after all... Just another station that will last nine months (Hot).

My God, you embittered, grizzled, old, men. I just ran an errand...they segued from "In Da Club" to J-Lo's "If You Had My Love." 2003 and 1999, respectively. If you were a 12 year old girl in 2003, you are now 22. If you were 12 in 1999, you are 26. In what universe is this not a winning radio station? That's a phenomenal midday radio segue. Greater Media filled a niche that was long overdue to be filled. This station fits right in between Kiss and Mix.

Will, I agree (as a grizzed old man) that 96.9 may indeed fill a niche.
For me...if they rolled all the stunt formats AND Hot (and through in an occasional Jazz and Country tune), now THAT would be my ideal station...I guess that's why there's Pandora!

So far, aside from the current hits, this station IS my ipod. You say you're going to listen to Pandora, I say I'm going to stop listening to my ipod. I'm a woman in my 20s and GM got me!

>>Should've kept Mike FM on 96.9

who knows, if Evolution flops CC might try it again...they gotta make some money to get rid of that $10 billion debt (jockless variety hits?). Do they wonder if paying $14.5M for a station with a limited signal
was worth it?

Radiochick, I can respect your view...

I simply grew up in a different time.....Did you know WRKO wand WMEX 1510 AM were THE places for music back in the day....and 96.9 had ships coming into port every hour....make that 97 (pre-digital days)

Ding Ding...from Commercial Wharf......

I actually don't at all mind Hot 96.9's music, I just don't want to hear JUST that and constantly flipping the dial is a pain.
