Imaging sounding very louzy and last minute made material. This can not be the real imaging. No Pebbles in the morning yet.

6 weeks of 13,000 songs. You're probably looking closer to 3rd week in February for the morning show debut.

Yes offcourse, so what's your point?

Yes, commercial free. But that not means no DJ's...

What part of it you didn't understand? They're going live with Pebbles so you'll have to wait 6 weeks like everyone else.
They're promoting her and that's who will kick it off. Not some DJ.

Nonsense. They don't play jockless music so long. Not gonna happen.

You DO realize this is 2013, right?

Yes offcourse, so what's your point?

My point is it's not unheard of for a station to go jockless nowadays... how long did Amp 103.3 go jockless after their launch?

Don't know that, don't follow the Boston radio market normally.

But that Pebbles chick is already in so why wait? Don't read that she start in February with here shift.

she probably wants to make sure the show is set up and ready to go dry runs etc!! also Mellisa will be on board soon and they need to hire sales people and other things.

I don't believe that whe don't hear any DJ until february.

In one of the recorded stop sets, Pebbles said her morning show starts after the 13,000 songs in a row. Jock-less until then.

Again, don't think that they doing that. Totally waste of time when there are no on air personalities for promoting and branding a new station to new listeners. That 10 or 13.000 songs a row song thing when a new station start is not by definition jock-less on some stations. When 92.3 Now FM NYC launched a couple days later there were some DJ's.

can you read and understand English? its plain to see there going jock-less until the songs are done.

it's jock less and commercial free to grab and hold listeners attention.they don't want you hitting seek button.Yes you can say its a stunt. It also works for sales.the sales person can turn a radio to the station and say this is where your advertising dollar is going.
it's a battle of the stations. Its Amp in one corner and Hot in the other.Jamn and Kiss are just watching the fight. Evolution 101.7 is in the bathroom or parking lot.

:'( Also, please tell me. How, when there was, and is, no Job Opennings listed, How did Peables got hired to work at "HOT 96.9"
Please tell me how these things happen?
For real, there is no Job Listnings (Greatermedia.com) On Top Click "Employment" "Boston"
Please tell me how did she get hired?
What if we want to apply. We can't because there is no contact info for Program Management.
Please tell me why and how this always is in Radio?

They were looking for someone with outstanding communication skills, not only speaking, but also writing. Especially writing. And spelling. That pretty much eliminates most of you in this thread.

I love that anyone who expresses their opinion immediately gets accused of wanting to be a program director. No wonder your industry is in the shape it's in, very little respect for the listening audience.

Are you referring to me or Lauro? I'm not even IN radio, never have been. But I was definitely expressing my opinion and it was a good one.

Well, it was your comment that got me thinking, but, of course, I don't know you from Adam. Generally speaking, that does seem to be the tone of a lot of posters here, many of whom are in the radio industry, and that's where I was coming from. I was speaking in generalities. I really don't believe most of the industry respects their listeners as well as they should. That holds true for most industries now, the customer is an after-thought. Maybe I should have also pointed out that advertisers seem to have little respect for radio listeners, particularly those over 55. I don't think that's such a great business model for those advertisers in an age where people in their 20s and 30s are increasingly out of work and falling into poverty. Not much upward mobility in this society today, and it's alarming to see how seemingly out of touch the industry and its advertisers are with that reality.

HOT 96.9 will have a very tight, laser focused playlist for the first month to exhibit what the station is. Every quarter hour needs to be a representation of the station. Their position is current rhythmic tracks and throwbacks. They're hitting the ground running playing nothing but monster hit songs knowing people cumeing the station for the first time will only be able to do so in short amounts of time. In 5 weeks, when the 13,000 songs is over, they will have 6 weeks worth of PPM data to extrapolate and analyze.

Methinks Clear Channel has a problem on its hands... and Greater Media has a monster hit in the making.

This station has buzz. More than 2,000 Facebook likes in less than four days. The playlist is clearly touching a nerve with people around age 30. Once the 13,000 songs are through, hopefully they will loosen up the playlist a bit to add more "throwbacks" and cut down on the heavy spinning of Rihanna ("Diamonds") and Alicia Keys ("This Girl is on Fire'). They could be a top 10 or even top 5 station in 6 months-to-a-year. Pebbles clearly has a HUGE and loyal following in this market. If Melissa is indeed joining the station, she will bring over even more converts. Once their shows get up and running, there may be no stopping Hot96.9.

Agreed 100%. My friend, who's a true hip hop fan, said he likes the station and even called it "hip hop oldies." Lots of 20 somethings and 30 somethings at work talking about it and they all think it already sounds 10x better than Jam'n (which we all know sounds like crap). This station will be a force to reckon with. About time. Jam'n, time to show what you got!
