Doesn't Open House Party already air on WXKS-FM 107.9 Medford/Boston? (a.k.a. Kiss 108)

Meanwhile...anybody else from WJMN-FM 94.5 going to show up on Monday? ;D

John Garabedian, Open House Party...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_House_Party
>>In 1955, the original Open House Party was created as the afternoon show on radio station WORC in Worcester, Massachusetts. A few years later, then 17-year-old John Garabedian was hired to DJ on Saturdays and Sundays. One night in 1987 Garabedian went to a party in Boston. There he bumped into Sunny Joe White, radio programmer of Boston's WXKS-FM "Kiss 108". White asked Garabedian if he would do the weekend shift. The following week, the two of them met to discuss it at dinner, where Garabedian proposed the idea for a national interactive weekend party show. White loved it, and agreed to put it on Kiss 108 after Garabedian created a studio to do the show. After looking into various office buildings, Garabedian decided to do the show from his basement.

Sunny Joe, died at only 42...

"Open House Party" hasn't been on "KISS 108" in years!!! Both that and "Rick Dees Weekly Top 40" would be great on weekends, and I hope both will be on.
"Currently and Recently "Rick Dees Weekly Top 40" was on WXLO, but not anymore. It would be nice to have it on somewhere in Boston

Heh, Ralphie Marino himself posted on their FB "Hire this guy right here and complete the circle" ;)

OHP hasn't been on Kiss since '07, which is really a bummer since Boston is (was) his flagship. Cadillac Jack, if you're reading this, PLEASE get John Garabedian on! :)

Some years ago I recorded Open House Party (via my mp3 player w.radio) for an aircheck trader;
I was in Burlington VT and it was on "95 Triple X" (WXXX-FM Colchester) The motel 6 was just a few miles from their stick & studios on Mallets Bay Ave

Really? It was the last time I checked, when did they take it off and what now airs in its place? Though I did notice that the format of the show has changed very little since the 90s when it was on kiss.

He's also live mixing RIGHT NOW on the "8:50 Hot block" a 40 minute commercial free mix every day. Sounds good! B&P sound great too. This will be my new station to listen to in the AM! Sounding very fresh

Yes very impressed and loving the hot block and will listen to the old school lunch later as well. There also bringing going to be doing pranks soon according to the votes on Facebook.

A couple of things that I noticed about 96.9 First, at around 6:15, they played two throwbacks in a row--"Can't Touch This" followed by "Black or White". Wonder if they are planning more throwbacks on their "clock"??? Also, did anyone notice how distorted Baltazar sounded? Pebbles seemed to be fine but a lot of distortion from Baltazar. Wonder why?

I agree totally in regards to Baltazar. He seemed totally out of his element. I honestly think he was just not in his comfort zone. Give the guy some time, he will be back to his old days of radio like he was at Jamn. By the way, was listening to Jamn 94.5 today and Ramiro made a comment at the end of his show. Something to the effect that the Ramiro show staff gets along unlike the other morning shows. Any ideas? Do you think he was directed that to Matty and the Baltazar crew???

I think that dhoule meant that he actually sounded distorted. Actually I didn't notice that problem with Baltazar, but I did notice it with Roy Barboza. Not just his mic, but the music he was mixing as well, it was as though everything coming out of his studio was overmodulated.

I also noticed that they were playing more "throwbacks" than usual this morning, I'm thinking it might just be a temporary thing.... let's face it, these are the records that Baltazar and Pebbles were spinning 15 years ago at 94.5, so I'm thinking they want the listener to make that instant connection.

I must say that it was really great hearing Baltazar on the air in Boston again, his voice and on-air demeanor are so familiar it's as if he never left. And you can tell he has great chemistry with Pebbles. Should be a really fun show to listen to.

Sounds to me like someone is bitter.

Ramiro wouldn't throw a rock in Matty's window, they're in the same office, company, etc.

My guess is that Pebbles and Melissa may not be besties, or there was some drama at the end of the B & P reign at jam'n

Perhaps there was some drama after Pebbles left JAMN? Because Melissa did host the show alongside Ramiro for a few days before she was let go as well.

Crazy times...
