WHTT Boston, too. The music connected so strong with all relevant demographics that no one complained about the repetition. Hot Hits was a creature of its time, and its time passed very quickly.WTIC-FM, WHYT, and KITS come to mind.

Unless it played only songs that were on the playlist at the same time. An all-week-of-July-15-1984 station would sound authentic, An all-July-1984 station would be playing some songs that had dropped off before or entered after July 15. An all-1984 station would merely be playing the 40 biggest songs of 1984.The original Hot Hits was a currents-based format. What this tribute station did was play 40-year old songs. Two different things.

It is? I thought most RadioDiscussions members are boomers and Gen X'ers, people who grew up when radio was a much bigger part of their entertainment experience than it is now, both radio fans and retired or veteran radio professionals.would be nice if they brought back the original WCAU-FM-98 (70--75), solid gold radio, music, jingles, etc., under the late great diamond Jim, WFIL and WPGR have on line listening sites. But most of you would not understand or appreciate it due to the average age of the members here are in their 20s and 30s.
