Margaritaville is both classic stuff and country, not widely played
on Country stations unless it's the Alan Jackson version...

It's part of their new "Broadway's Back In The Day" feature where they play songs from one year between 3pm-4pm. They did 1977 on Tuesday and I agree, Hotel California and Margaritaville were BIIIG stretches for KTU but they both were monster hits that year. Yesterday they did 1992 and while they played a couple of unusual songs for them (Black Sheep and Kris Kross) the rest of the tracks were standard KTU fare. Broadway's doing 1982 today (Thursday.)

The BIG RUMOR I heard came from an angry board op at JACK - who used to work at MIX, he apparently thought he should be on-air in mornings.

"MIX is going to grab some of the CBS-FM OLDIES positioning and move between WLTW and CBS-FM's old turf."

THAT makes sense to me. It would help heal some of the wounds from the JACK flip and attack the LITE FM.

MIX is really an oldies station anyway. Look at the dinosaurs they have on staff - Causi, Paco Lopez, Carol Ford and even Michelle Visage are 40 plus radio people.

Wait a minute? Are you saying Mix will be shifting gears? They'll give up on KTU and try to compete with Lite FM now?

If true, it will be interesting.

It's about time they started playing some decent music on that station.
