I never remember hearing 98.3 from CC in Houston, Bama. The two Corpus stations that always caused trouble in H-town were 97.5 KFTX and the old 103.7 KOUL. Big 93.9 was another normal catch in and around the Houston area, but I can not for the life of me remember ever hearing 98.3 down there. Would've been pretty tough, given KTJM next door and either KORA or KULM making regular appearances in the right conditions.

Are you sure it isn't KLUB in Victoria you're thinking about? I don't know if it's still the case, but there was a time that KLUB would completely wipe out KHPT in Houston. The Point wouldn't start overtaking the channel from Victoria until you got up past Cypresswood.

With KFNC and KHJK, these days the most frequent Corpus visitor is KSAB, it's easily able to overpower KHIH (former KSHN) in the western half of the market when the ducts are active.

Back when what is now KFNC was still in B/PA as KAYD (late 1980s) KFTX predecessor KWVS “The Waves” would often come booming into Houston with full quieting. I still have a couple of cassette airchecks of the New Age format KWVS had at the time; this would have been shortly after the facility was upgraded to a Class C1.

Neither Radio-locator nor FCCData.org indicate KWVS as a former call of KFTX, but I have the audio to prove it.

A Silent STA request was filed today for K201EU 88.1, reason stated was antenna line damage.

KGOL 1180 filed to extend its STA for the temporary diplex at KGOW’s licensed night site. Still have not seen any filing for a new permanent facility for KGOL.

For me up in Montgomery County 93.9 is the easiest from that area to come in. Same with 103.7. Then I might hear 98.3 and 99.9 but usually KULM and WACO will come in stronger. I’ll often get 97.5 if I’m not hearing Waco. Lately I’ve been hearing the new KABV a lot
 
I am pretty sure the 97.3 Richmond is lit up. Something was on it the other day. Spanish and spoken word. The audio sounded splattered/smashed a bit. Anybody wanna venture a guess where they stuck the antenna?

Yes I heard Radio Aleluya on 97.3 a few weeks ago

I was in the Katy and Richmond areas on Saturday, and K247CX 97.3 was on the air with a good signal, but the audio was extremely low. Sounded like dead air unless the radio volume was really cranked.
 
is 94.9 Antenna still on Shepherd and Tidwell behind the Toyota junkyard. If it is, that antenna is about to fall. It is sideways.

That tower is used most likely use to talk to tow truck drives. 94.9 the info for the station says the antenna is 98ft high in the picture it looks to be more like 70ft to 80ft.
 
At a quick bandscan late Monday afternoon (5/5) I found Radio Aleluya on KRCM 1380 instead of “KCOH”. KRCM had been running the KCOH format that was displaced from 1230 after the Ennis tower was destroyed. Also the webstream on 1230kcoh.com is not working.

Technical glitch, or has something bigger happened?

Partial update: The “KCOH” webstream is working again, but at several checks today (5/6) KRCM is still running Radio Aleluya.

An online search fails to find anything related to the “KCOH” disappearance on 1380.

Back on April 19th, Michael Harris made this announcement: "This week has been challenging! In addition to all the usual things we had to say a final goodbye to Pastor Foreman George Foreman and 1380 KCOH but it’s internet streaming! Everything must change! Nothing remains the same! I will be back!" No details were given. I assume that a contract must have come to an end. If there is a way that AM1230 can get back on the air, KCOH may be able to return. I am not optimistic about AM1230, my former home when it was KNUZ.

“KCOH” was still on 1380 during checks last week, so the change is quite recent.

Of course the current “KCOH” is a recreation of the legacy station that was on 1430 (and later 1230) for many decades. It is a format that had previously bounced around several stations using the “Synergy Radio” branding (IIRC) before winding up on 1230 (uniting it with the KCOH call). But it seems the original operation is still going as an online broadcaster, so there are two “KCOH”.

I strongly doubt 1230 is returning. The latest Silent STA extension filing said nothing about any efforts to resume operations.
