RE "I've decided to stay out of the conversation and just laugh"
Like good Talk Radio, the conversation SHOULD entertain those-other-than-the-voices-having-it.
Something more hosts should remember, eh?
Two schools of thought on the anonymous ballbusters:
1. Yours, echoing Joni Mitchell: "Who needs the static? It hurts the head."
And I cite another lyric on-the-heels-of the previous Jim Croce reference going-over-several-heads here.
2. Silly zingers are merely the-price-of-admission here, and a-small-price-to-pay.
Now that conventions are few-and-far-between, this is a REAL useful opportunity for shoptalk.
After all, we're radio people. We think aloud...even when "aloud" is typing.
Heck, graffiti is everywhere...especially here in The Consequence-Free Conversation.
One reason we're a-nation-of-skimmers-not-readers.
Spam and snark and other such verbal Styrofoam is WHY we graze-and-channel-surf...and, apropos the topic of this thread, thus all the overstatement on Talk Radio.
"You [ALL of you] turn me on, I'm a radio."
