How did kiss 98.5 // 103.3 did?

I forgot but how did they do in the ratings when they played dance? Those were the good old days.
???

Obviously not well, since the format was axed after a couple of years....and I don't think it was ever really thought of as a dance station...more rhythmic CHR.

I think they would have done better on a city grade signal.

Some of their best numbers were when they were Jammin (before Liberman took them over)...They had a 3+ share in some books..As Raza, they have had that only once or twice...and never stay consistent. I knew the PD when they were Jammin...she had a good music mix and I liked the sound...almost a Jack format before Jack became the default name..Yes that WAS the good old days...

Boy, I remember that station when it was "Kiss 98.5." I'm never been a fan of a lot of Hispanic-related music, but that dance format was top-notch. They played (early) Jennifer Lopez, Sneaker Pimps, Amber, To Kool Chris, etc. On some of their weekend dance shows, they would even sneak in Prodigy and Faithless. This was at the height of the 90's/rave/techno era. Too bad it didn't last :-[

Then, Kiss started to play more mainstream stuff, slowly taking out the dance format until it sounded like a younger-sounding Mix (Matchbox 20, No Doubt). Then they scraped that for disco in 1998, I believe.

The flip from Kiss 98.5/103.3 to 98.5 The Jam happened at noon on January 1, 1999. Sometime between the previous night and the morning, it dropped its playlist and started playing "1999" by Prince continuously. The first song on 98.5 The Jam was "You Dropped a Bomb on Me."
