How Dumb is KYKX?

OF COURSE I was quoting Fall book. It's the latest ratings. Are you really that stupid? Where did I represent them as Spring?. Learn to read moron.

Agreed. Anyone else want to recall the 21-share KNUE in the Spring 1995 book? I was fortunate to be there part-time. I know what good radio is supposed to sound like. Radio today is a mere shadow of what it was then.

A very scary thought, but you're probably not far off. However, Access-1 is an African-American owned company. I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of Urban or Urban AC format will pop up. Especially, with the success of the R&B stations in Shreveport. <P ID="signature">______________

It really doesn't matter which ratings you are looking at...KYKX hasn't been a serious competitor in the last 3 years!

Big D and Bubba have beat KYKX since day one...and will continue to until Access One decides to put some tender loving care (and money) into making that station a player again.

And it doesn't appear that such action is likely. KYKX died long ago, and it's now just a question of when Access 1 will decide to cart the body away--to Tyler, perhaps.

That's been the early-on thinking of several older-line station owners and managers 'round these parts--people who no longer own and/or manage any stations. But they are knowing in the ways of radio and take pleasure in watching from afar--happy to now be out of the inner circle and looking on as sideliners.

A true level of KYKXmentality. All incaps, and the term" Ass" Yes frustration is the motto of KYKX. If you can't beat them, beat yourself.

Might want to watch the ratings from Shreveport tomorrow. Access One isn't doing so hot now with the new Urban AC KVMA in town. They are doing "dolla-a-holla" spots just to keep clients on. They're hurting pretty bad. Word is the clock is ticking on Quinn's tenure as PD of KDKS & KBTT.

From what I heard Access One is a good company, but the local Shreveport Outlet is in deep....You know! The problem in Longview may be the same BAD local management & an idot for a PD.

Both problems easily solved, which begs the question of why Access 1 doesn't DO something about them--such as can Dru and clean house. Unless, again, the owners don't actually want the station to improve--letting it die on the vine then take operations to Tyler, quite possibly under a new format. This has all been covered numerous times previously, but have to wonder just how long the pitiful KYKX situation will be allowed to linger.

And with KYKX there's very little to praise, so the nature of what will be posted about the station is not in question.

Doesn't the term "the truth hurts" show any indication? Either you work part time at KYKX or at the same time, you are "defending its honor." Don't make me laugh, please. KYKX doesn't have an honor nor the reputation to be a great station. "Larry & Lou" and the "Ken, Diane and Warren" years (we all know these are REAL radio people) are good examples of reputation and honor of making KYKX #1. The problem with you is you're being sensitive about this whole issue. Aren't you forgetting this is a message board? Come on, man! Come to reality! You either agree to disagree or ignore. Choose your pick.
