Educated guesses:

Frank Ski: 800K+
Bert: 500K+
Zakk: 200K
Domino and Cellini: 150K each
Scott Slade: 350K
Cletus: 400K+
Rude: 175K
Lexi: 150K
Marco: 250K
CJ & Murph: 150K each
Kelly and Alpha: 300K+ each
A Team: 150K each

Lexi Kaye is stealing money then. Also that much for Cletus?

Semi-informed estimate ... I don't think the entire Morning Mess is making $250K ... less than they paid Vikki herself ... but not counting money NOT saved in attorney fees!

(8546 to go!) :D

Here's my guesses:

Frank Ski $750K
Bert 275K
Zakk 135K
D&C 125K
Scott Slade 195K
Cletus 225K
Rude 150K
Lexi 100K
Marco 145K
CJ&M 125K
ATeam 125K

I'll bet these are closer to Base salaries BUT they all have various types of performance bonuses which affect these numbers. You also have to factor in endorsements, appearances, voice work etc.
I would not be surprised if Franks and Ryan at V do $1.5 M yearly - both have foundations to dissipate tax liabilities. None of the other Atlanta personalities break $1M - not radio, at least.

More than half of the people on that list must be stealing money!

All laughable guesses. Thank you. Gotta go wipe tears.

I'd think one or two of those are a bit low, and one or two of them owe change if they're making that much. Of course, if I was privvy to people's salaries, I wouldn't share them anyhow. But it's fun to speculate.

Everyone should know how much(or little) the other guy makes to see how unfair & cutthroat this business really is. I bet if some people found how much some of their co-workers made they'd quit & get our of radio & go make a decent living.

It's not a radio thing - Every business is cutthroat.

No good ever comes of knowing what the other guy makes. It can only do damage. Either you lord it over him and sneer, or you'r pist at him cos he 'isn't worth that mugh more than me'.
Wanna know everyone's income? Take a civil service job, or join the service. Both of which tend towards lowest common denominator.

Or become a professional athlete. Or a movie star.

I didn't mind everyone knowing how much I made when I was working at a union plant. At least you knew what your co-workers made & didn't have OMs & GMs snagging up all the high paying positions for themselves without even putting the job up for bid. "OH, SURPRISE! MY BOSS IS NOW MAKING AN EXTRA $5,000 A YEAR VOICETRACKING A SHIFT ON A STATION ON A SISTER CLUSTER & the job was never even mentioned to anyone else in Programming", when he already made a decent living at 40+k a year+ perks+benefits & me or others made less than 19k & never even knew the prospective gig existed. Sounds very Bushy.

Anyone doing any job should know what the going rate is for his/her position.

I laugh at you! In today's radio, if you voicetrack for a sister station, you are probably NOT getting paid extra for doing so. Companies do it that way to save the them money, not to give the talent any extra cash. They're too cheap to hire another live talent, so they just pile it on someone that exists in the company as part of their responsibilities.

decent at 40k? aim much higher. Sounds very pelosiy...

One of the radio magazines is doing a how much they earn issue coming out in the September issue. I won't expose the magazine but I am sure that you can make educated guesses. They are dealing with the talk radio genre in the issue and i was getting pressed for talk radio salary estimates as I knew it.
I definitely knew the approximate neighborhood, but not the exact address for the general talk hosts. They are all doing very well and earn what they get.
I was bit shocked to hear that a publication is doing a sports talk show host list that is also coming out in the Fall. This guy told me that 3 Atlanta talk show hosts cracked the $300,000 mark last year which puts their incomes in the top 25 nationally. This list includes syndicated and local hosts.
My best guess was the two Stewart brothers and Kincade. I'm guessing the Stews because of their Radio One deal from before that is now with Sporting News and Kincade because of 680 and his ESPN duties.
The top 25 talk list compared to the top 25 sports talk list is supposedly staggering in difference. I would expect that as sports talk is more niche, but supposedly only 6 sports talk guys would make the top 25 if the lists were merged.

It all depends on your perspective. I remember when I started in radio making 5 bucks per hour and I thought if I could just make $20,000 per year I would stay in radio forever. It was the 1980's and I was 20 years old.

Having a family and wife changes everything.

I thought I had made it at one of my last radio jobs when I was under contract to make $70,000 per year. But they fired me before my raise kicked in.

I am not bitter because I loved every moment I had in radio despite the money and lack of security. Everyday was a blast.

But my priorities changed because of family and trying to do the right thing for the next generation.

This is why I am selling mortgages today and not worried about the next ratings book. Unless you are one of my friends who became huge stars, you need a backup plan.

Nothing is sadder than an aging radio personality who cannot understand why their talent is no longer wanted.

This is the entertainment industry and is not meant to be long term for most people.

Says quite a bit about someone who managed to ruin lots of very good broadcasters careers while joining with other no talents like Nany Zintack and Bob whats his name the so called GM, can boast about a contract that called for all of $70K...Wow....Aim high Mike, aim high!
Radio does not miss you and your ilk!
