How much do local on air show hosts earn?

Look on them like pro athletes - the smart ones salt away the bulk of the high income loot, thereby ensuring a positive future. The not so smart ones end up selling used Oldsmobiles.

At least you knew what your co-workers made & didn't have OMs & GMs snagging up all the high paying positions for themselves without even putting the job up for bid. "OH, SURPRISE! MY BOSS IS NOW MAKING AN EXTRA $5,000 A YEAR VOICETRACKING A SHIFT ON A STATION ON A SISTER CLUSTER ...
I laugh at you! In today's radio, if you voicetrack for a sister station, you are probably NOT getting paid extra for doing so. Companies do it that way to save the them money, not to give the talent any extra cash. They're too cheap to hire another live talent, so they just pile it on someone that exists in the company as part of their responsibilities.
I said a sister CLUSTER not in the same town or market you're in. This was just 4 years ago & to me it wasn't a laughing matter. The job was gift wrapped by the boss, not discussed or posted & then opened by the boss. The only thing funny was ClearChannel sold all of us & jocks were dissolved at all the stations but the morning shows. Boo Hoo-no more easy money 10-2 midday v/t-ing loot.

I'll bet the average listener would be surprised to learn the night and/or weekend jocks (and part-timers) are making $10-$15/hour in the #8 market. Just doing it for the exposure!

Something else you might not know ... the pilots of the traffic airplane(s) only make $5.00/hour! They do the flying only to accumulate "hours" in the air ... plus the fun of making Kim McCarthy airsick!

Sorry Kimberline ... luv ya!

Is Kim McCarthy related to Kate McCarthy? Very similar names? Same company? Although Kate sounds more like Jordan Graye another Cox employee, their names are so similar you would think Cox would have made one of them change their name to avoid on-air confusion especially if they are not sisters.

You haven't heard about this, but The River is planning a huge event. Paul McCartney will be coming to town to join Kate McCarthy on stage, followed by a concert. The concert will feature several McCartney/McCarthy duets. Jordan Graye will be taking the day off to attend.

Also making an appearance will be Kim McCarthy. And because Kim McCarthy flies in the Sky Copter, the event will be called "Paul McCartney & Wings."

As an added attraction, Jim Morrison, formerly of Star 94, will be doing a tribute to the legendary rock band, The Doors.

Sheesh, what a stretch!

This question has been asked before. \

VT for CC ATL - $10 per hour
Afternoons - Dave FM Under 30K
APD/MD - Dave FM Just over 30K
Producer Board Op WGST 30k FT, $12 PT

They're paid like collegew station engineers, Taylor: Ten bucks a day and all the CDs you can eat. The Kent Card should be resurrected. And trade in general... A kid doing overnight at minimum wage wasn't so awful whan you could offer in trade lunch 5 days at a trade restaurant and fill the car once a week. Maybe a piece of his rent, or live in the trailer at the transmitter site in return for keeping an eye on the place and kicking the circuit breaker when the engineer calls.

I worked for a company that was bought out by CC. When I left, it was vtracked by someone already working for CC station out of TX. I feel your pain but those decision are usually made by corporate.
