Howie Carr WRKO

First post. As far as WRKO @ 3am, They have Coast to Coast with George Noury.
It’s a nice opportunity to catch up on UFO’s, Bigfoot, the paranormal, and other sundry subjects.
Kind of Art Bell lite.
Except when Iheart screws up and airs a feed from another station with nothing but constant news, traffic on the threes and the accuweather forecast.....that's what they did this past Saturday nite...of course, that was before they aired a totally wrong program starting at 10pm which was a feed from the aforementioned station. SMH.

Following up on an earlier post, it looks like Howie has been removed from the Newsmax web site, so I assume they've cancelled the simulcast.

It's a good question, and I'm only saying why doesn't it apply to current talk show hosts? Why do they get a pass? Are they not employees of the radio station?

Howie doesn't. He often refers to listening to the "magic radio" in his car. Then again, he's not an employee of WRKO. Neither are any of their other weekday hosts, other than Kuhner. Pags and Kelley are on other IHeart stations I believe, Grace works for Howie, the money dudes from 10-12 are buying air-time from what I understand.

Kuhner must listen to Coast-To-Coast because he comes up with even bigger conspiracy theories than George's guests.

On a facebook group someone posted a youtube video of New England Afternoon from what was then WNEV-TV 7 (Dec 1983). Hosted by a younger Bill O'Reilly (Oh, Really), with a lot more hair, he read some news headlines including one about a sort of scandal involving AG Frank Bellotti. You could briefly see then gov Mike Dukakis being asked a brief question by a Ch 7 reporter
with glasses, young guy..
"Excuse me, Howie," said Dukakis, making his way along the street, not saying anything else.
Howie Carr, about a month away from turning 32 (born Jan of 1952)

When it comes to local politics Kuhner is at his best. He said he knows from his inside sources that Charlie Baker made a deal with local Democratic party leaders. The Democrats would run a weak candidate against Baker while Baker would not run strong Republican candidates against Democratic legislators. Where these strong Republicans would come from is known only to Mr. Kuhner and possibly Dr. Grace.

Yea, that area had seen much better days. That's for sure. It was a big manufacturing location for GE. Drove thru there a couple summers ago. A lot of boarded up buildings and homes.
Many years ago when I worked for one of the radio networks, I would travel to 15 different markets, 2 nights in Albany felt like two weeks. However, I am happy Doug Gowdey was not out of work long. He is a real gentleman and I don't know anyone who has worked with him who has a bad word to say about VB.

How would they know?
Corporate overlords know all.

(Someone mistakenly posting from work where a reverse proxy server with logging is used, as an example.... not uncommon in today's corporate environments.)

Maybe in some corporations. Perhaps IBM and GE. iHeart Boston doesn't have that kind of "overlord" structure that could carry out such a thing.

Howie will only retire when people stop buying stuff at his store and he can't sell any more books.
Howie is always trying to find ways to sell stuff, even stupid stuff, because as he said yesterday, people will believe anything so if they're stupid enough to believe anything, they're stupid enough to buy anything.

That's the driving force behind talk radio. It's all fiction.

Jerry Williams said many years ago... “We aren't in radio, we are in advertising”

Whatever content pays the bills is whats played.

ATTENTION HOWIE CARR:

I know you read the comments on this board, so, here's one for you. Joe Pags IS NOT ON DECK, Jesse Kelly is on deck. Pags is now on at 10pm not 7pm. Not sure if that promo is an iheart screw up, or, a HCRN screw up, but, it needs to be fixed.

inside of a break, it is WRKO's problem, Howie is not promoting WRKO shows live while he is feeding the rest of the stations in his network
