a CHR/Pop station in California that doesn't lean too heavily on Rhythmic? In an area with lots of Hispanics? Top 3 in its market overall? BEATING the Rhythmics in the ratings? Yes! Such a station exists.

KHOP 95.1 is a true success story. It's a pure CHR/Pop station based in Modesto, a market over 35 percent Hispanic, with huge ratings (over a 7 share). It also does very well in nearby Merced, a markets thats over 45 percent Hispanic, and KHOP also pulls in some decent numbers in Stockton despite signal limitations in that area.
Just goes to show that with the right team in place a true blue CHR/Pop station can work just about anywhere
Here's what KHOP played this past Friday at 1 PM:
PCD "Wen I Grow Up"
Three Days Grace "Never Too Late"
Chris Brown "Forever"
Avril "Complicated"
Natasha Bedingfield "Pocketful of Sunshine"
Lil Wayne "Lollipop"
Paramore "Misery Business"
NKOTB "Summertime"
Rihanna "Disturbia"
JT "My Love"
Metro Station "Shake It"
Danity Kane "Damaged"
Fresno? Bakersfield? Oxnard? SAN FRANCISCO?! Are you all paying attention?
