HUGE-JA

Let's take a vote here folks. Are you sick of that guy as I am? He must be pouring a fortune into TV ad time just to sell his cars. As for myself, I wouldn't walk across the street from his dealership let alone buy one of his cars just because of his commercials.
And by the way, whose the dork that stands along side of him; his trained monkey?

It's worse in Buffalo where he has several dealerships and brands.... it's HUUUUGGGGEEEE ly annoying.

Try going on vacation to the 1000 Islands or Finger Lakes. It's "all Billy all the time" there as well as in Bflo. My daughter said when she was in TX recently she saw Tom Park (Billy's pitchman) doing spots for a dealer down there. I've heard Tom's from the Dallas area originally...
I caught both the Rochester and Syracuse stations in the Finger Lakes and IMO, the spots with the two old Italian guys selling used Cadillacs and Lincolns (Dio Guardi Motors) takes the prize. lolol...

I was in Sackets Harbor last month and I use to live in Buffalo so I know what you mean with fuccillo's dealerships on Grand Island. Considering his mania in the commercials, who would buy a car from there?::)

I also am not a fan of the Dorschel dealerships

Billy pays his bills and is known to be about as honest as a car saleman can be. If you work in broadcasting he's been known "to take care of you".

“Take care of you,” what does that mean? I don’t want to misinterpret what you’re saying here but the way I perceive your comment, something doesn’t appear to be above board. Please correct me if I’m mistaken in my observations.

A commercial doesn’t have to stoop to the lowest common dominator in order to get their message across. There are plenty of car ads on TV today that don’t depend on gimmicks to sell product.

But who am I to argue with success? Apparently this guy makes enough money from his numerous car dealerships to afford bombarding the airwaves with his commercials. I’m sure sales executives are not complaining. As for me when Mr. Huge-JA comes on, the remote button on my TV set is quickly pushed. Unfortunately there have been times where switching from one channel to another is in vain since the same commercial is airing on another channel.

I simply meant if you are, for example: doing a remote broadcast from one of his locations he treats you very well and if you should be in the market for a car you should let him know. He'll take care of you. He really seems appreciative of your support and service. How many clients are like that?

So he's a nice guy but his commercials still suck.

He also does commercials for some dealership in Orlando. If you're in/near Syracuse, you've probably seen "Holly" doing spots for the "Powerhouse" dealerships... she's almost as famous (and as annoying) as Tom & Billy. She's also on the air in Orlando. There are a handful of these folks who just go around the country filming spots for various dealerships. Until I saw that... who knew there'd be a market for that kind of work? Then again, you have to admit, Tom and Holly are a bit more "slick" than the dealerships who use actual dealers, or even worse, some butt ugly "spokesmodel" who does a terrible job on-camera, but is allowed to because she happens to be the owner's wife, girlfriend or daughter. (Or the owner herself, in the case of Jane Fox.)

It would be interesting if Fuccillo ever built a dealership in a market where Tom Park is already being used by a competitor. I wonder if he'd just do the commercials himself, get someone else, or "buy out" Tom from the other dealership. Maybe it's already happened somewhere.

Yes, his ads are very annoying. However, with that said....

We just bought a car from him, and it was the best car buying experience I've had in years. There was no pressure, and the dealership bent over backwards to accomodate us. We had gone to another dealer (Dorschel) and they were not able to get the care financed because of the amount we owed on the old car. Of course, when they weren't able to get us financed, they tried to sit on our refund of the down payment as long as possible. Fucillo not only got us financed with a better deal, on a MUCH better car, they bent over backwards to accomodate us until we could get the refund from the other place.

Again, not defending the ads, but I am very happy with the dealership itself.

Funny thing about Dorschel, we had just leased a car through them 4 months ago. Not very customer oriented, and certainly do not care about repeat business. You would think that a dealership would be happy to have people buy 2 new cars from them. Just goes to show you, ads don't make the dealership.
