Hoping they get a good host calibar of say a Helen or somone on Pro
No doubt pissing off advertisers. Last listed price was ~$3M for both stations. That was around 2005.Skynet74 said:tony r said:Good news, I realize it is unfair to discriminate against persons with speech impediments, but, I could not listen, all I could picture was him spitting all over.

If I only had the money buy that dump, I would do morning drive myself and give Fall River a heart attack with the programming I would air. I'm just so tired of bland mediocre radio. I would just let loose and it would be something that people would no doubt talk about. How much would that heap of garbage cost me to purchase?

Rush brings in incredible ratings in many markets but there are advertisers still don't want to be on his show. Usually companies with a family-friendly image. As for getting 100 new advertisers who would love the new sound of the station, that is hard to gauge because you haven't said what exactly would replace what's on now (besides "exciting" & talk). Then there's the hubris factor of what you're talking about & I've seen in a lot of stations that are bought by new companies: they assume the people of the town will listen to ANYTHING that is put on the air because they assume listeners won't tune anywhere else. "I KNOW WHAT YOU NEED AND YOU DON'T, SO SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO WHAT I'VE DECIDED YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO!" You're assuming that people of Fall River even want something new. They may be happy with what's on now. They might not want their world rocked.Skynet74 said:N1WVQ said:No doubt pissing off advertisers. Last listed price was ~$3M for both stations. Why would advertisers be pissed off? If I'm bringing in incredible ratings don't you think advertisers would be happy? I am sure that if I purchased the station that many of the current listeners and advertisers would jump ship. That would be expected. They may not like the new WSAR. However they are all replaceable. 50 of the current advertisers would be replaced by 100 who would love the new station. 10,000 of the current listeners would be replaced by 25,000 new listeners. It's the same thing that happens whenever a station changes format. It's to be expected. However I would not even be changing the format. I would still keep it TALK. But it would be interesting talk. Exciting talk. All boundaries would be pushed and it would be amazing. Every radio station these days is so bland that Bland has become acceptable. I would change that and bring some personallity back to the dial.
