Early Friday morning I heard Ankarlo strong arm the morning newsman (I thought his name was Ron The Rock Star), into spending the weekend in Galveston. He said something to the effect that he was going to get somebody in promotions to make up an official looking ID, in order to be able to report from Galveston. It sounded like a glaring admission that the station didn't have any real reporters to cover this event, so he would take it upon himself to fake the credentials and go on his time off. I didn't listen to any of the KLIF coverage, but it must have been something to the effect of "There are NO empty busses around here, by golly. The incredible Republican governor of Texas really took charge!"

It's pretty bad when the radio at work is on all night and doesn't give as much info as the few times I went to get coffee in the hotel's breakfast room and the TV was on in there. The posters that got fussed at for mentioning TV coverage on a radio board shouldn't be blamed--it's just a glaring example of the importance of news and info (or lack of it?) to various media organizations...

The only thing incredible about Perry is that his hair stays put in a hurricane ... or a hairicane.

The accidental guv was voted "The Dumbest Governor in the Unites States".

Once, he introducted an education reform package, and every House member voted against it -- even members of his own party.

His wife, Anita, stated in "Texas Monthly", that Rick is a true cowboy.

Maybe she confused him with the hind end of the horse.
