I canceled my sub with Sirius

I had enough of the way Sirius operates their business. The other day I called their customer service department over a billing dispute. Of course I got a rep in the Caribbean. I tried to explain the billing problem. He was very nasty. I asked to speak to a manager. He hung up on me.

I called corp HQ...they got me a nice lady in Canada. She resolved the problem, but I still canceled my sub. I have a say where my money goes to. Most times you have no say...like when you buy gas. In this case they need me more than I need them. No more money from me. I don't want Sirius to outsource their customer service department.

Now I'll save $12.95 per month. I can go to Dairy Queen now and fill my face.

What pc did you use to connect to the internet? A Dell, HP, Sony...? I suggest you throw those away , as they outsource their customer service also. Want to try XM...oh guess what? Yes them too!! Oh yeah, you might want to try to call Dairy Queen customer service, see where that comes from (it isnt New York City). :D

i had problems with the level one csr and the canadian fixed it so i'm good. seems like you're spiting yourself. i think i pointed out in another post all american companies are selling out in some form its called globalization. don't think DQ aint doing it.

Wow,,,I never have a problem with Sirius, they hit my credit card every month,, and with Norm n Nite,, and his show on every saturday and sunday, and Sirius Gold, and Cousin brucie,,and JJ walker,,,Magic mat youve got it! No matter what they charge, i will pay,,,I couldnt imagine having to get into a car and listen to KFRC or any terrestrial,,,I ve had Sirius since 12/06 and its great! Im a big fan of XM also,,,,The "Sweet 16s" are something Ive really come to enjoy! Satellite radio is the only way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One more thing, no one has a "Top of the Hour Jingle" Like the 60s channel on XM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny how Satellite has blown stations off the air! Commercial free radio is the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a recent trip to LA,,,going south on 5 from the bay Area,,, Sirius and XM on my trip,,,Commercial free!!!!!!!!!!! And how about TV? I'm old fashioned, I want quality programming and will pay for it rather than accept substandard radio - even for free. :)

Well I just signed back up after canceling my account in January. So now Sirius subscriber numbers remain the same...lol. I canceled because I moved into a new apartment that couldn't get a good signal. I'm facing East when I need to face West. But this week I decided to pull out my old Sirius Radio and fool around with it. Well something happened that didn't make any sense at all. I stuck the antenna on my dresser in the corner of the room and I got full satellite signal on my radio. The WINDOW wouldn't give me a signal. But inside away from the window that is facing the wrong way to begin with..... I'm getting a great signal!

After I stopped laughing from amazement.... I called and had my service turned back on. I'm on the top floor of my apartment complex. Maybe the signal is coming through the roof or something. I honestly don't know. But I'm just glad that I got my 134 channels and Howard Stern back!

Actually, I am very happy without TV. Back in the early 1960's, there was a FCC Commisioner who made a speach. He called TV a "vast wasteland". That made news for month. TV was nothing in those days. Today, it a real wasteland.

Since buying my first computer 12 years ago, I have spent substantially less time in front of the TV. You are right. Most programming is garbage now. Plus cable is really overpriced. I pay $50 bucks a month for 70 cable channels. But I only pay $13 for 134 sirius channels!

And I'm glad your happy with wonderful, free terrestrial radio!! Enjoy the shallow playlists and ads!!! Talk about a real wasteland!! :D

One might ask where you've been living the past 5-10 years. Ever call Sears or any credit card company? They all do it to save money.

Wow, you have BOTH?
I just got Sirius. I like it. I LIKE IT ALOT! Not sure about their equipment though, I am having some issues with the radio I purchased. But I have to say, I am very happy so far, although I have had it all of two days.

I have had both XM (7 yrs) & Sirius (6 yrs)- both are great and compliment each other. They offer musical formats not available on terrestrial or most markets , and for the popular formats, deeper playlists - and no ads!! Whats not to like?

Youve got to have both, to maximize your listening pleasure,, XM 60s channel for Wolfman Jack,, and the "Sweet 16' countdowns, and Sirius has the best late 50s to early 60s Sirius Gold! Norm N Nite,,Cousin Brucie,, Magic Matt,,and JJ Walker,, what a line up on Sirius,, Not to mention the show Norm n Nite has is by far the most informative show Ive ever heard!!!!!!!!!!! This guy knows music! I never miss his show! JJWalker on the Totally 70s has a great show.Sirius and XM ,,, never leave home without them!! If you settle for Terrestrial radio,, your missing out on great radio!! These 2 Sats are worth every dime they charge! KFRC in San Francisco is a punishment if you had to listen to it!!! CBS doesnt do radio well! Kenny in Concord

Yeah my Dad said the same thing about cable TV back when I was a kid. Eventually he learned that "you get what you pay for".....

My wife said that same thing until she actually heard the SIRIUS music channels on Dish Network. Now she can't imagine being without it. I also pointed out how silly that way of thinking is when we pay for TV. We've been SiRIUS subscribers for three years. Now maybe you live in an area where you have a large number of formats to pick from but here in Podunck Illinois you get the same tired songs on all the stations. I'll gladly pay 12.95 per month to have something worth listening to.

Tv is more and more AD FILLED and annoying than sirius will ever be.

I agree-depending on where you live-is how to measure what radio is available to you. For many people, sat rad is a God send. Without it, they'd be listening to CDs or MP3 players all the time. Not to mention, it can be so hard to find any kind of news anymore. For me, I just had to hope it was night out and I had favorable conditions to get WCBS-AM (assuming the Yanks weren't on) or WBBM-AM or even sometimes WTOP! With Sat Rad I can always find the news, Sports News too!
