I declare this the OFFICIAL WECK THREAD

I think very few people would complain if Brad and Dick Greene did pull the plug on the traffic reports for the ride home from work.

Really? Traffic is OK in AM drive, but unnecessary in PM? Nobody cares where traffic's SNAFU on the way home? Or on the way to 2nd shift?

Rox, I do agree with traffic being necessary in both AM and PM drive. On the other hand maybe very few people would complain because very few people are listening! :D Sorry, that was too easy to pass up. ;)

I've found traffic updates to be helpful in the past. I don't see the need to get rid of them, especially if you pride yourself on being local radio.

I have, too. I think Leah does a real good job on them, too and doesn't complain when Brad forgets about her and leaves her on hold for 10 minutes.

I don't understand how the whole thing works. Is she doing for a number of stations at the same time? Where is she located? It sounds like she's able to several monitors at the same time?

Maybe she can just record the report and e-mail it to him. Then he can slip it in betweeen manifestos.

Manifesto? I think we all forgot about that crazy rant.

Nick Mendola is on right now talking to Corey Griswold about the City of Buffalo Schools. Two former GR guys talking to each other with no phone calls or Facebook comments or Twitter comments sprinkled in. Hard to get excited about it.

Anything new with Brad's search for a new co-host on the morning show? Is Christina going to get the job? She wasn't on at all this week but I believe I heard Tom say something about her being on vacation.

What's up with the 9 am to noon slot? The live and local programming idea apparently is dead.

They're probably better off keeping Miller there until Yankees' season is over. That manifesto is looking quite humorous now, though. :D

Seems to me the "manifesto" looked very humorous, from the very beginning. Somebody should declare this thread "dead" - just like the station.

Did Brad jump ship or was he fired?

Details from the Entercom insiders are desired.

Thanks folks.

So, Brad says he's done at WECK. Now what?

Where did he say this? I follow him on twitter, and unless I missed it, he hasn't said anything.....But, I just got a tweet from BuffaloRising with words to this effect.

No. He can't go back there. Wenger and Reid and Roth wouldn't approve it.

If anyone, Mendola MAY be welcomed back, but probably only on a part time basis.

OK... so we're waiting to hear from Brad and anyone else that has any info on this developing story.

Mister Riter.... PAGING Mister Riter...

Per Brad's WECK page...

"I'm a troublemaker
Never been a faker
Doing things my own way
And never giving up."

His Facebook page. Nick's done too. (Edit: in his case, by choice.)

I don't belong to FB and it looks like Brad's page is not public, or whatever it is when I can still see the whole page.

Can you post what both of them have said?

As long as the mods don't have an issue with it. (If they do, I'm sure they'll let me know.)

Brad: "As of today, I'm no longer with WECK. I'm not sure what's next for me but I am open to conversations about anything and everything. Thanks for the support over the years."

Nick: "Despite an opportunity to stay, I too will be leaving WECK. The show will go on (not today) and thanks to the sponsors who are sticking with me."

Thanks! Brad has been my favorite radio host for a decade or so. He makes everybody he's with better - from Jeremy through Scott Wilson and lately Scott Rindick (sp?)...........I hope he does something in radio or podcasting still.

To me, his show (not necessarily the station, for sure) was really great lately. Great guests almost every day. He always seems to pick out what I want to hear about on that particular day. One time it might be sports, one time it might be Casey Anthony, one time it might be Chris Lee, etc.

This really puts a big hole into my daily way of life.
