tap that brake. he's nothing but a ass kisser of seedy people. that does not = good radio.

I remember my ol' first station manager, a Mr. Marconi, telling me that pseudo-intellectuals with speech impediments and terminal namedropitis aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Wooooopssssssssssss!!! :-[

Wish: A decent format not represented currently (real rock, alternative or dance)
Reality: Another mexican simulcast or urban station

Whats your beef with urban radio. If they were to flip then go Gospel....We all need the Lord.

My beef is the simple fact this market is already overloaded on these two formats. Id love to see something different on the dallas airwaves that isnt the same retread of the other overmodulated station down the dial..

Personally, I'd rather hear something different than see something different on the radio.

Of course, my eyesight is poor and I've never been able to actually see the radio waves.

That stays on AM where all country stations should be as well.

In my opinion, a black gospel format will work great on a full signal FM stick in D/FW. Of course you will need the proper marketing and promotions to make it work.

Do you realize how inane that comment really is in major market radio? In the south? In friggin' Texas!? Seriously, opine about the way you feel later and think about how detrimental that would be to a major market in the south, that's as diverse as Dallas - country and urban on AM only. ???

And to this I issue one thought - how many radio stations in years past can claim a handful of these same sponsors? What about the near future? Advertising on any radio station, for the most part, is like a dirty old man in the club... it's because they are there. When KLLI kicks the bucket (and they will), these loyalists will tuck tail, pack up their pocketbooks and move on to the next warm body in sales.

And no, Gospel doesn't count or add unnecessary weight to your half baked argument. LA and NYC and ATL have well more than two URBAN formats in their market, and most of them get a nice lionshare of the ratings. Even if you add KRNB and K-SOUL, there is still a space from a true Nu Soul market (which is almost there here) or a Black Talk station with a full promotions budget.

Sorry - I have the day off and am consuming adult beverages by the pool. (Perfect day weatherwise). So, I may very well chime in with inane comments - just ignore me like usual. :p

MOViN' is sounding good today - see i just did it. ;D

See, that was hilarious... and was left un-ignored too. Enjoy your mimosa.

Jagger Show, Sucks. It's like listening to nails drag on a chalkboard.
P&K, Sucks. Dumb and Dumber.
Russ, Sucks. Dead-Air Idiot.
And the beat goes on.
As for the "loads of sponsors".
Are you kidding me? That's all this station is, one continual LIVE endorsement.
15 LIVE Spots into commercials. Friggin' kill me.
I'm waiting for the day they endorse competing sponsors back to back.
One eye surgeon right in to another.
Can't you see one waiting on hold while the other is endorsed?

I'd agree, with the exception of the Jagger show. I think it's pretty good.

However, you've just GOT to agree that 105.3 kicks butt on the weekends...who wouldn't want to rock out to their captivating, back-to-back, utterly fascinating infomercials? One after another? For stuff that very, very few people want or need?

It seems like every time I tune past the station, Kelly's telling me she has granite countertops.

Now THAT's good radio!
