I Got An E-Mail From Scott Shannon!

Years ago when I was just taking my first steps into radio-land, I sent emails to a bunch of local jocks for advice. The only two who responded were Tim Rhodes and Mara Davis (I still have those emails). Mara even took the time to explain to me the differences between being a jock and doing voiceover work. Both were incredibly kind and gave me advice I still use. It's cool that I now get to work with Mara.

I forgot to mention Steve Craig as well. Really nice guy, always answers emails and he was fun to talk to back when he did a late night mostly call in talk show when it was Power 99..

"Years ago" ... "emails" ... Thanx for reminding me how old I am... :D

I just dug up the "old" email and it's from 2003. In the technical world it's old! ;D

In the email, she told me to apply for an internship at Z93. heh

Of all that I've met and corresponded with, they're all class acts. Christopher Calandro helps me out many many times, and even floats me the occasional lunch (thanks, buddy). Sully and I used to talk TPIR all the time back in the Barker days (our Drew days are more filled now, but it's good to be busy!). Orff can't get any nicer (and even jokes with me about having an "iFloyd"-- refering my occasional iFloyd wallpaper on my MySpace page). Tim Rhodes knows alot about helping out those in need (thanks a lot for the encouragement to help keep me going strong). I'm very happy Holly Firfer and Tom Sullivan have gigs on Atlanta & Company. They're great people who are always very positive, and I hope they get radio gigs again soon, if that's what they want to do. Mark Arum's got to be another one of the nicest guys in Radio/TV, and he's helped me out with a lot of networking as well. And, I have to reiterate all the comments about Steve Craig. He's even gone above and beyond to answer some questions I had to help me out on my current PA gig.

Jimmy Baron. Not only talented on the air, but genuinely a nice guy in real life. He also took the time years ago to offer good solid advice to a once struggling unheard and unsigned band. If it wasn't for JB, they'd probably still be playing in my parent's garage.
