SW --- I hate to get bitter here, but why is it that all stations
have a-d-v-e-r-t-i-s-i-n-g regardless of position. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT
and then post. You are nowhere close to accurate here. Will you please
admit this and move on??? Talk all you want. But, you know you have to look
at alot of factors...c'mon!

Indy

It's an applicable spelling, considering the situation.

And, isn't it ironic you dodge the challenge to back up what you've stated?

Steppen"wimp", indeed.

Sorry, but you're incorrect. Ratings have nothing to do with the buying decisions of advertisers. For example, WPLJ in New York City bills extremely high, but their ratings suck.

Actually, WPLJ is a Hot AC and the 25-39 or 25-44 female numbers on WPLJ are very, very good.

Advertisers do not byuy 12+, and as often as not, they don't buy 25-54. They buy WITHIN 25-54. Women 25-34 (Hot AC) , or Men 35-54 (all sports) or persons 35-54 (country).

When a ratings based buy is to be made (and 99% of agency buys are based on ratings) they look at the target.

If you are after 35-54 men in NY, the first non-ethnic buy is WFAN. WFAN is #15 12+, but the top deliverer of men in that demo. So it will command the higherst rate and be first on most buys.

If you are after young adult women in NY, WPLJ is a must buy. In 35-44 women, it is top 5 on a 4 book average, and in 25-34, #6. The stations above it are ones like WBLS, WSKQ, and WPLJ delivers well non-ethnic younger women.

It is top 5 25-49 in Fall. In a market that size, it is pretty much a guaranteed buy in most adult demos.

25-49 and 25-54 are the core demos. Any agency buy is going to include that station. In fact, since it is so balance 24-34 and 35-44, it will probably beat stations above it due to multi-demo-clomponent efficiency.

Never knew that. Interesting. I thought ratings had little or nothing to do with the agency buys.

As in Oldiescat's post in repsonse to you're he has given his sources what are your sources saying Indianapolis Jack isn't performing well Steppenwolf. I Think you were upset to see Gold go.

My guess is Mr. Steppenwolf either was a former salesman or parttimer at Gold and was let go when they flipped to Jack last year. So he has a case of sour grapes when the station is doing better than when he was there. Just give it up Steppenwolf Indy Jack is here for a while. If you want your oldies go prod Emmis to flip WYXB to Oldies and have them hire you.

Well seems the ad agencies are buying 5 stations Deep in tha demo in the #41 Market if Jack is bringing in better billing than Gold ever was in the past couple year. Please can you give up your sour grapes over Indy Jack a rest its old news.
