I like that- Richard Vission

Were you wrong or was it monkey see, monkey do? I think the song is just ehhhh. I don't hate it, but wouldn't buy it either.

I was wrong in saying that it seemed over at CHR. Not wrong in playing it. I like the record but it was a quick burn for me.

I just heard it on Hot 100.5 Virginia Beach. They played it in regular rotation, not a mixshow. Sounds really catchy the first time I heard it.

Hope this song makes its way north to my local CHR stations :)

I've heard this song twice so far today. 1st during the 12:20 party mix on KZON and the instrumental was just playing as I started typing this on KZZP during whatever mix they are doing now at 5pm. Both stations have actually played it a few times before but I just never bothered to say anything about it.

This is off-topic, but 104.7 KISS FM has a mixshow at 5? I only heard them mix on Saturday nights. Are the mixes any dance-friendly?

So far they are no more dance friendly than what you catch on 102.7 KIIS FM. Unlike KIIS, no Deadmau5 or Wynter Gordon in the mix on KZZP. I had a feeling they were mixing around 5 when I flipped through and heard something playing faster than normal, but then thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me and assumed maybe it was because they pitched their music. I did notice every time I flipped through KZZP between 5 and 5:30, whatever beats or songs I heard had fast tempos, but for some reason I didn't believe anything was actually going on until I heard "favorite Dj" by Clinton Sparks playing. I almost assumed maybe it was just that it was officially becoming a hit.. until I heard the flanger effect.. and then a mix into California Gurls and Arizona Gurls.. etc. The fact they were dropping Aaron Taylor's name on "favorite dj" was also another clue. I just can't believe it took me 25 of the 30 minutes to get the fact that it was actually a mix.

Another sign this song's gaining popularity: yes.com logged it when I played it on WVPH tonight, it didn't log it when I heard it on Hot 100.5 the other night.

I don't think that many stations are playing it, but The Baka Boyz do use it in their Baka Boyz Allstar Hit Mix, so I guess it's considered a hit. There are more hit music / rhythmic stations playing Far East Movement than there are stations playing "I Like That", but I never once heard Far East Movement in the Allstar Hitmix. Far East Movement's first official single "girls on the dance floor" seemed to be a west coast thing, with only California, Arizona, and Nevada stations (mainly) playing it (kind of like "we run L.A." by Ya Boy). Now FarEast Movement's latest single "like a G6" seems to be having more success.. I guess Richard Vission could turn out to have the same pattern of success - if he releases more singles that could gain more acceptance in the future. Either that, or maybe "I Like That" may be a slow riser.

Yesterday KTFM played Far East Movement- Like A G6 during the 5pm mix.

Look for this song to be in regular rotation....soon

WiLD 94.9 SF and 97.1 AMP Radio have "Like a G6" in regular rotation. AMP also had their first hit "Girls on the Dancefloor" on rotation last year.

This is getting some somewhat popular attention in L.A.
I hear it more here than I do in Phoenix. KAMP has it in regular rotation. Yet I haven't heard any of the underground dance mixshows play it though. ???

That's funny! You say it's on mainstream radio and wonder why no underground mixshows are playing it... could it be that it's no longer 'underground'?

Since when did this become less 'underground' than Enrique Iglesias "I Like it"? Because I heard Enrique Iglesias "I like it" play twice during one of the two hour underground dance mix shows last weekend (and I should also add that the people in charge of these mix shows are the ones who introduced and referred to their shows as underground mix shows during their own shows...).

I like that is playing NOW on KZZP. It was playing less than 20 minutes ago on KZON as well.

A FEW HOURS EARLIER:
I was listening to The Baka Boyz Allstar HIT Mix when the Baka Boyz had the "we no speak americano" instrumental playing. One of the on air dj's said "I hear the 'we no speak americano' beat in the background there... I wish we could play it, but we wont because we only play the hits on the Baka Boyz Allstar Hit Mix.. coming up after the break 'I Like That' by Richard Vission...." They played BOTH that song and "Like a G6" in the same set during the (syndicated) Baka Boyz Allstar HIT Mix show.

Deja Vu all over again! I guess you shall just tune in to www.1047kissfm.com now because they are repeating the mix! As a matter of fact, I could've just posted all this this weekend and it would still be 100% accurate.

I heard Enrique's song first on dance stations a month before it surfaced on CHR. I heard I Like That first on CHR station Hot 100.5, a station I only get during tropo DX. That shows how "underground" this song is.

Where are you that you can get this channel via tropo? Just out of curiosity of course ;)

I'm thinking... Why doesn't Power 106 play this? THEY even have an underground dance mix show... if they don't want to play it in their regular rotation. If that other station could play the same Enrique Iglesias remix twice in a two hour period during an underground mix show, then... I'm sure the station where Richard Vission works at could play "I like that" by Richard Vission. However, instead they are playing "memories" by David Guetta ft Kid Cudi. L.A. does do some odd things. KAMP is also playing the Kid Cudi song. As a matter of fact, KMVQ and KYLD are using it too. Must be a "California thing..." Anyway, I see everyone else (in rhythmic / top 40) but KPWR are playing Richard Vission. However, they ALL play dance music on their stations. Hmmm...
