is this a play on their "I see black people..." TV One ad?

You could easily get venture capital for that amount... the hard part is generating the cash to pay for everything from janitorial services to the leased tower space over on the 1430 tower in Medford.
With WBAL the protected clear channel AM on that frequency, it is very hard to make a go of a station like that.
In the winter hours you are literally full power for 7 hours a day. Everything else in daylight hours is at reduced power as the sun is going down, and it has been a while since I have seen a PSSA timetable for the Boston market, but with a 430 sundown in the winter they must be powering back by 1430 hours if I had to take a guess.
( WLYN GM want to comment on this since you are on a similar schedule)
The difference between WLYN and WILD is at night WLYN can still pump out a whopping 76 watts, where WILD goes dark at sunset. 76 watts at night still gives you some coverage of your C.O.L.. I just don't ever see 1090 in the Boston market ever getting authorization to run at night, and now that the FCC has given the green light to the IBOC stations to run at night any station close to 1090 within 100 miles is going to croak it. Heck if 1060 ever goes IBOC you'd be lucky to hear 1090 more than 20 miles from the tower site in the daytime.
The sad thing is that WILD may end up going dark. In its day it was a great station. Mr. Nash did community radio and he did i well.
Changing times, new technology, and the mainstreaming of urban music killed WILD.

They have zero understanding of the radio business. Yes, this is a capitalistic country. The failure of communism had nothing to do with conservatives or politicians - there is just no incentive for the masses, under communism, to better themselves.
I have no wish to be a liberal. They cannot get things DONE. I'm just tired of all of the whining...
