Sounds like you are moving forward - you know you got my prayers. One final bit of advice - your vision comes from the Lord, not from men. When men see your resolve, your desire to do something for the Lord, and especially the money starting to come in - they are going to try to distract you from the path the Lord revealed to you. Emotions run high, dogmatism runs deep, and there are forces out there that will try to mold the station to their desires, not the vision the Lord has given you.
For 35 years, my mission from the Lord has been to minister through Christian rock music to young people. I have not looked to the left, I have not looked to the right. My mission has never been altered, God doesn't change. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Maybe, your burden is to reach young people, like my mission. If so, I'd go forward without a moment's hesitation with Christian rock. If your burden is not for young people, that is fine. But don't let conservative minded people brainwash you that anything other than Christian rock will reach young people. I had that at WAPN all the time. The charismatic guy thought I should be speaking in tongues on the air. The conservative preacher thought I was corrupting youth with satan's music. The preacher that smoked like a stack and beat the ____ out of his wife thought I should be praying on the air. The station owner was convinced praise and worship reaches young people. His wife thought I should do a little children's show. The heavy metal Christian show guy was about the only one who "got it" and told me to stay the course. He was right. Now, the Lord is really blessing me financially. I can't do Christian radio on my own, but somebody here is doing it - real Christian rock - no compromises. And I am about to be in a position to write them a freakin' huge check. If the Lord continues to bless to this magitude, I'm going to be able to buy them a first rate stick that will cover the whole area. On the condition that it remains Christian rock, in perpetuity, with absolute no compromises with praise and worship forces, preaching shows, or the rest of the rubbish that permeates Christian radio. My involvement in radio may be limited to writing checks, but if the Lord does even a part of what I expect, that will guarantee the kids in this town have their station. The grownups usually win.
Now, if the Lord has removed your vision to reach young people, go with however He leads. But be sure it is HIM leading and not the forces that hate young people and their music.
