They're buzzing in NY about the poss of Imus coming back in the fall to WFAN (once things "cool down",
with a toned down show)...and Maloney of SaveWRKO.com wonders if a new syndie deal could bring
the I-man back to Boston, too. Who knows.
Post: "Imus pals Mike Francesa and Chris Russo, of "Mike and the Mad Dog," hinted that a deal to bring the crusty talk-radio cowboy back is in the works."
SaveWRKO: "No wonder WTKK hasn't tried out a number of potential morning hosts, they're simply waiting for the I-Man's radio return. It also explains why Mike Barnicle dropped out of the "running" for this non-opening. Obviously, he knew something we didn't."
Though Maloney adds that maybe Imus is "yesterday's news"...still, you never know. I wonder if Imus
might sign up with another syndicator (TalkRadioNetwork? ABC?) to do a show which may not necessarily be
mornings.
