Listening to them now in Berlin. Still playing everything in mono. Also seem to be hearing the same 30 odd songs over and over. Hopefully this station will be in stereo soon.

No active website yet.

Just looked at the thread title. Should it be changed to focus on 1470/102.5 exclusively?

Sounds very much like they're still testing and don't really care what's going out because they don't want anyone listening at this time.

Speaking of bad audio, how's WATX 1220 doing these days? Still running flea power and muffled audio from a dipole hanging out a window somewhere or has old Clark Smidt finally found a transmitter site that will allow the station to power up again? I was listening online yesterday and they're still running a tight library of crispy oldies with a one-foot-in-the-grave-sounding announcer grumbling one of the station's three liners/IDs every so often.

The audio online sounds ok. I cant say it sounds particularly bad or particularly good

There's at least a professional weather forecast every hour frpm Bill Jacquemin and news form CBS. The music is ok, its upbeat it isnt bad at all.. but the upbeat-ness comes to a screeching halt when that announcer.. Clark himself? Speaks.

Agreed...Why bother. AM is d.e.a.d with a few exceptions, nationally.

Wow! FPR really doesn't care about what's airing on 102.5 WBOM. At around 5:17AM this morning I was scanning the band and they were playing a weather forecast so old that it mentioned high winds, highs in the 20swith a 20% chance of snow!
Fuller may have the money to buy stations, but aside from The Whale, they all have a definite small-market, on-the-cheap sound to them.

If I was in charge I'd make 102.5 WBOM similar to Urban One's Classix 107.9 in Philly. Minus the infomercials. Yeah on the weekend said station in Philly runs "Puirty Products" and they have a lawyer on where people can call in and get legal advice. (The latter also airs on their in-market sister station 100.3 WRNB). https://classixphilly.com/

I'd also move Bomba off 104.1 HD2 and the translators and put it on 104.1 HD1. I would then put 104.1's current format on the HD2 and the translators. I'm sure many will disagree, but I have many Hispanic friends and their biggest complaint about Bomba is having to change to one of the other frequencies while driving around. Bomba on 104.1 HD1 can get the WBOM call letters and 1470 can go back to WMMW.

But what would the translators flip to? Would they flip to a simulcast of WMRQ's current format?

The problem there is double. Few people have HD capability at home or work, so moving to HD-exclusive eliminates listening in those locations. And Hispanics tend to have older vehicles, and may not have HD access in the car. Of all formats, one in Spanish would suffer the most by going to HD only.

And if Bomba is moved to "HD1" that means that the analog signal has to be the same content.

It's a good thing you arent in charge.

Those infomercials do NOT renew if they don't see a return on the money they spend and to air them is little to no effort on the stations part. It's pure profit

WMRQ does ok in the ratings, but could spanish do better thats the question? Fuller has a spanish station in another market, so hes no adverse to it.. but he appears to be smart and shrewd when it comes to business, so if he thought it was worth it.. he'd do it.

My question is for W273DS (102.5 FM): Is 250 watts standard for a translator? Or is that being reduced slightly by height?

Also, if the AM/FM simulcast was no big deal, do you think this would be simulcasted on 103.3 FM from City Place in Hartford?

250 watts is the max a translator can have in 49 of the states but theres no height limitation.

www.hartfords1025.com is the new site with streaming and everything

Well, sorta

as of 330pm eastern time today (saturday) the website loads fine when clicking a link posted by john fuller on facebook using my phone connected to my ISP's wifi

Trying to load it in firefox on the same ISP but on my computer nets a "Secure connection failed" and over on Google Chrome on my PC i get an intertechmedia.com landing page

Website and link to streaming audio working fine here in Vermont. The player is hosted by Surfer Network and pops up as a simple black screen with "play" icon and pause/time/volume control underneath.
