I'll say THIS about WDJO

Couldn't disgree more!

As a person who owns and resurrects AM's I couldn't disagree more with your post. If done correctly, if marketed right, utilizing technology, but yet old fashioned marketing gimmicks, music oriented AM's can be brought back to life. We've done, it time and time again.

And what Dusty and the guys have done is to be commended. Former announcers getting together, planning, and taking over this AM. WOW, my hat goes off to them.

Listened to the airchecks posted here. Really enjoyed it. Love the new jingle package as well.

Thanks,

Where are your stations located? Are any of them in markets as competitive as Cincinnati?

I agree that they can be resurrected if there is not a lot of competition, but it is a lot more difficult to do it as the market size gets larger.

Re: Couldn't disgree more!

Our stations are in Tennessee, and indeed are not in hugely competitive markets. However its all relative, if your able to control expenses. I'd welcome the chance to take a major market heritage AM and return it to glory. With technology costs are kept low enough to turn a profit, and you have a stronger opportunity in a large market for more advertising dollars.

WDJO's situation all depends on what the guys involved are paying themselves. Is it for love or money? Or both?

Thanks!
