I'm Back On Live365!

@d21ofnj that is why I also left Live365. To me Live365 is a paid version of the FREE listen2myradio.com or freestreamhosting.org on steroids. It takes a long time to get listeners unless your Top40 or Rap as I could not get more than 5 listeners over there. I thought I'd get VIP's to listen.

I'd recommend if your on a show string budget to go with streamLicensing and if you want a discount http://startinternetradio.tk and discount code TC-227 and use RadioLoyalty (free stream hosting) which is ad supported and many terrestrial stations use them as well. You can make money force generating in stream ads which StreamLicensing allows.

There are numerous cheap Shoutcast hosts too MakeAVoice, fastcast4u.com are a few that aren't too bad. Another is 1000slots.tk (but get the unlimited bandwidth option). That one does go out for a few minutes after 2-3 days however.

You can use LiveWebDJ but you'll have to use a transcoder (FastServ $10/M per stream) to make that one work with RadioLoyalty if you want and its $15/Mo for LiveWebDj which you get a whapping 20 GB's of autoDJ and is DMCA complient).

You don't have to settle for Live365 just because your on a show string budget as I feel the StreamLicensing option is the best as you can make money instead of shelling out money.

As far as I can tell, all unlicensed broadcasting is illegal by New York state law. If I'm wrong, that would be nice.
Part 15 stations are licensed by the FCC. States can't assert rights in this area

Cheers & 73 :D

Well, they aren't licensed, but they are allowed to operate under the Part 15 regulations. You don't need a license to operate a Part 15 "device" of any kind, be it a Part 15 compliant transmitter, wifi access point, baby monitor, etc. Several states has laws prohibiting illegal broadcasting but usually have the verbiage stating allowance under some other provision - that provision would be 47 CFR 15 (i.e., Part 15 regulations). I would be that those who enforce those state laws have no clue what Part 15 is and how it affects the law they are attempting to enforce.

@Captainfirst: I hope you're doing well with your station. I know I pulled the plug on mine after Live365 had a series of disasters that made listeners run away in droves.

Well, I just paid for an entire year of Live365 (actually, my mom did as a birthday present). The station is at :

www.live365.com/stations/markbradley2012

And this month I'm spotlighting 1971. Every record to top the Billboard Hot 100 as well as literally over 200 other singles and album cuts. The station also features CBS News, which is so worth the $19.95 a month I'm paying for it. Next month I'll feature 1979.

Guys, Radionomy offers everything that Live365 offers...but it's...ready?...it's completely free. No payment for servers, hosting, streaming, unlimited uploads, preloaded music library or GLOBAL MUSIC RIGHTS. You also get a live broadcast feature.

You could theoretically set up a station blasting Coldplay to the entire world 24/7 and not pay a penny.

I'm telling you, this site is amazing...get on there and make a station. It takes less than an hour.

And I bet there's a boatload of ad inserts included in your Radionomy stream, am I right?

Their vidio that shows how to add a playlist is not clear. I guess you have to make artists boxes first right? Plus I could not get the live feature to work. This is something I wanted to try out but it is not as easy as Live365 or even Loudcaster when it was alive to go live. Instead for now I was running LiveWebDJ and when I want to go live it takes over the AutoDJ. Tell me is there a way to make this site as easy? let us know.

Just out of curiosity which level of Live365 are you signed up for?? I'm considering it and was thinking start out with one of the personal ones and if I like it upgrade to pro, unless I find something better.
