Indie's playlist was similar to KROQ's with the addition of the new tracks and deeper cuts. Indie's playlist wasn't horrible, it was the specialty shows that turned people away.

Actually, Jonesy had some of the best ratings. Special programming (done right) can be very lucrative in PPM. Indie was too deep and unfamiliar to win in PPM where they didn't get the "vote"
 
Can you guys kindly minimize the talk about LA stations in this thread? KROQ and Indie have little to do with San Diego, or this thread.

What you just said doesn't make sense to me. If FCB lost the stations to BCA, then whether or not FCB had any money would seen to no longer be relevant to hiring DSC, since FCB no longer runs the stations, BCA ("LMA") does.

Thus, it's BCA that needs the money to hire DSC, would it not? FCB is out of the picture, yes?

Ok, Back to SD.

Mike Halloran at 91x would make a huge spash, and get a lot of attention.

It would basically say, "Ok, 94.9 has lost it's cred with this move, and now 91X has it's cred back".

91X has a nice lead on 94.9 right now in PPM. Why would they mess with a winning formula?
 
DSC were on Rock 105, similar demographic to 91X. Its goo that 91X is doing well. But why not do even better? 91X could be number 1 inthe market. You get keep the demo you have with some very talented and funny people, and then get back the heritage 91X listener who remember 91X from back in the day. Those people bring their kids to listen.

91X is doing well but can always do better.

We're in a different era. Words like "cred" don't mean anything. We're not looking for votes- you have to get real listening. DSC are great though - I was more referring to Halloran.

In the most recent weeklies, 91X ranked 6th and KBZT 17th 18-49 adults in afternoon.
 
91X is great the way it is, keep it that way.
91X is doing excellent in the 18-34 demographic, a demo FM 949 could never capture because of the amount of recurrents they play. But The Mikey Show will definately increase the ratings of FM 949 by increasing TSL and bringing in his following from KIOZ
