The censors just dont make any sense sometimes.... I may be old fashioned but offended by the lyrics of Plies-Busted Baby... The part where it goes (I just gave her a nic name its WET WET, cause when we finish she messed up all my bed sets.... How did these Crude, Gross, Sexual Lyrics get passed the censor's,,, I cringe everytime I have to play it, and I hate it when little 9 yr old girls call up and request it, I just dont understand why this wasnt edited and cleaned up for radio. This is just very offensive and embaressing for me to play, and we have had complaints about it...
On the other hand, a perfectly clean party song that shouldnt be edited, does get edited. Im talking about Flo Rida-In the Ayer...... Editing out the word Damn, which isnt even considered a curse word by todays standards. The part where it says Oh Hot Damn, this is my Jam gets edited to OH HOT.... This is my Jam, that completely ruins the flow of the song, doesnt even Rhyme, and shouldnt be edited. Why does this song get edited, yet Busted Babt doesnt.
Also, im totally sick of Lil Wayne-Lollipop, I take my headphones off everytime I have to play it,,, I just cant stand the sound of his annoying voice, and Im totally put off by the message in this song,,, Its about Oral Sex.... Ya wanna lick the Rapper=Not Funny.... I also hate when little girls call in to request it, do their parents even realize what their kids listen to now days, these kind of songs where intended for an over 18 audience in the privacy of their own home, not for the public airwaves... At first this song was dayparted only after 6 pm so it wouldnt come on in the office and make us lose at work listeners, but thats kinda hard to do after the song blows up....
Any other opinions on this, or am I just a midwestern conservative stick in the mudd that should be at a Hot AC???????? Am I over reacting, or do others feel the same way... It just baffles me that we cant say Damn, but all these Sexual Crude Messages are just fine.....
