Imposing Dance On The Masses

I think hes talking about the culture of the music. Every genre has it. Urban, Country, alternative. You have to be apart of it to understand it.

Bottom line, these programmers want to tell their audiences what they want to hear, not what the audience really wants.
If corporate heads truly understood what was going on in the industry, they wouldn't keep promoting the crap out of hip-hop considering that its sales are down.

Check out the download charts(legal and illegal) at Big Champagne or the other services for a clear picture of what the people want(and don't want)

Ahh back on the boards.. its been awhile haha!

HEY! I have a point here! If you wanna rely on charts, then why dont you go and check out Ipods most downloaded tracks... Absolute GARBAGE! If you seriously think that charts determine what is wanted to be heard then seriously, I think you should be a program director at a top 40 radio station in kentucky, because that's where it seems to get its originality from. No originality nor thought process. If you did your research, then you might find tracks out there that can be played in rotation which arent so "urban minded" Remember, radio can be an educational tool if used properly as well as reinforce the basic fundamentals. In todays day in age, people can buy the music direct off the internet from suppliers from around the world, so Imports arent as tough to get as one may think, like they use to be. Im not saying ram just one format down someones throat, Im just saying, provide a "Neech" sound that nobody else provides. Its a fine delicate balance, but certainly doesnt have to have a particular sound more then the other. (Playing more urban vs dance or House) Take a listen to www.z1035.com They have a delicate balance of everything, and I might add Number One ratings in Toronto to boot. It's a case of providing a balance and not just one formatics.

And yes, living the culture is like a country boy wearin a cowboy hat listening to country music. He/She is living that lifestyle for an example.....

Thats my 2 cents!
