Imus and Jay Severin

I heard an ad today promoting Kiss Me I'm Imus and it mentioned Jay Severin would be there. I thought Jay disassociated himself from Imus because of how he was treated during an appearance? Did they make-up?

Imus is making his yearly St. Patrick's appearance in Boston on Tuesday. I heard Michael Graham (last week, I think) say that he, Margery, Braude, Severin, and McPhee would all be there live for Imus's show. They are probably all contractually bound to be there but I dunno. I have heard Severin say in the past that he would never appear on Imus's show again so whether Jay actually shows up and/or actually participates on-air remains to be seen.

I'd been wondering the same thing since I heard the promo about three weeks ago. If I had to guess I'd say Jay won't be there, something will come up? I just think they didn't want to include everyone in the spot and not Sevarino.

Imus hasn't cut back on the personal stuff. He had Cramer on as a frequent guest and even got a significant contribution to his ranch--I believe-- from the loaded CNBC entertainer. But he's been killing him lately. Does Jay want to take that chance by showing up?

In the early 70s I was a journalism student in New York and idolized Imus. He was a big part of the reason I got into the radio news business. Admittedly, he is not what he once was, but compared to a pimp squeak who is basicly a one trick pony who in his 50s lies about his education, Imus remains a giant who should not be willing to share an area code much less a stage with Severino. If Jay has the nerve or the guts to show, Imus should toss him out and make him keep his word never to appear with him again. That would give Severin a little taste of how he treats listeners who have the nerve to ever disagree with him.

Maybe you folks in Boston-Billerica, MA can explain something
to someone in Wisconsin.

We get Imus only via RFD-TV, and we've maybe seen two
commercials total...one for Levon Helm, and another one for
Rose Bowl DVD telecasts.

Last week, Imus was ranting how he was 'sold-out' and had
too many commercials.

Anyone have an idea, why there are absolutely NO spots running
on the TV feed? Nada...ziltch...none. Seems like since Day One.

Jay is thin-skinned. I remember when he fired Emily Rooney from her weekly spot on his show after she didn't invite him to a party at WGBH.

As I made clear earlier, I hope that Jay is a no show because he is not good enough to share a stage or even a zip code with Imus. The reason I will not listen that day is because Imus will likely have Barnicle on who I find to be a disgrace to journalism. I wish Imus would see this fraud for what he is.

Jay mentioned that he WILL be in attendance at the wilbur theatre to promote HIS show as his show is the highest rated at the imus event, but most likely NOT appear on his show. Not ALL WTKK hosts will appear on his show as some never have.He may be contractually obligated to be there even if he never even says hello to imus off air.
cattman

Imus giveth, and Imus taketh away,
---------------------------------------------
Imus didn't take anything away, Jimmy said he wasn't interested in returning, months ago. That was that.

Tough news for Imus. Only consolation is that when he says he'll get the best care available, unlike most people he really means it.

Well, if Imus can get away with saying he'd 'shoot' somebody, surely I can get away with saying that I hope Imus just dies and gets dumped in a pine box somewhere in the Albuquerque suburbs. A rodeo clown of the highest order who embezzles money 'in the name of the 'chil'en'' and then takes that money to feather his nest in New Mexico.

I'm no big fan of Severin, but I have no problem with wishing a plain, pine box for Imus sometime in his near future.  I actually hope he comes here and reads this, or someone in his 'posse' does. You get as good as you give, Imus. Let's hope the cure for cancer waits until just after you're gone. I'm not buying the whole 'staged theatrics' angle, either. Imus is what he is and he says what he means. Only his ardent supporters would wave his crap off with a laugh and giggle.

Another great contribution to the discussion by ChrisNH

Classy.

.......Jimmy Severino and his agent not pleased......

No, they are very pleased. In fact, they are the ones who are peddling the story.
