Imus on WBAP?

Mark is 100% preoccupied with his local show. The national show went bye-bye in September or October.
 
If Imus ends up on WBAP, that is another signal that ABC thinks that there is no talent in this market or they wouldn't be thinking about bringing in a network show for morning drive. They would rather run a network show on WBAP than try to be local with someone from this market. This is yet another example of the fact that there is no personality talent in this market.
 
Nice to hear sort of a backhanded compliment there, RT! Since Hal Jay's staying put and no plans for Imus at WBAP have or will come to fruition, that must mean you're admitting Hal has this "personality talent" that's missing everywhere else in the market! I'm sure Hal thanks you for the kind words!

There was no backhanded compliment in any way in my last post. It is my position, was my position and will be my position that there is and has been no significant talent in this market with the exception of a young Dan Ingram at KBOX in 1959 and a young Charlie Van Dyke at KLIF for his short stint there. You can also count Barney Pip and Bwanna Johnny at KXOL but, both of them were there for such a short time as they both were looking for and found bigger and better gigs in bigger and better markets. Barney left KXOL and John Rook for WPIX-FM, New York, and Ken Draper, his former program director at WCFL. Other than those listed above, who were dieing to get out of here, this market is, was and will be a talent wasteland.

Talent is such a subjective thing. Is it someone who has the pleasing voice and delivery of a Mark Watkins? Is it someone who has the fame and personality of a Jody Dean? Is it someone who understands the medium and can consistently bring in the listeners like a Ron Chapman? Or is it someone who is so comfortable and familiar to his assigned psche-graphic that he can stay in one place and make millions for his company year in and year out like Hal Jay?
How about you, 'Radiotruth'... what is your talent? Snark doesn't count.

If Citadel is hell-bent on bringing Imus to this market, they should put him on 96.7 to give that station some kind of visibility that it does not currently have.

It wouldnt hurt, the station isnt doing anything worthwhile right now anyways....

Who says Citadel is hell-bent on bringing Imus to Dallas-Ft. Worth? Anything in the trades about it or is it only speculation by RI board members?
