I'm glad you spell beats with a 'z' instead of an 's' so I know to avoid it.

In fact, take it further :

BLASE as in ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Up and down...watch this be like a pitiful self promotion of a college show or some crap like that...I totally support college radio Z889 does a great job with the dance format and can be heard in S Jersey....but don't put up this thread unless it's on commercial..

it IS a self promotion...but it's no college radio

http://www.myspace.com/967party

D21, is this what you're talking about?

THERE IT IS... just as I thought... 8watts with a CP to a whole 23watts... and the calls are W244AS-FM... nice...

"From the tttttttttttttop of that 2 story building in Oakhurst... it's the new blaze 96.7..."

Please turn off your hair dryers so I can hear it from the street level..... hehe... sorry... can't resist... but hey... it's better than nothing I suppose....

You don't remember your own tag?

Upper left hand corner of your posts, genius.

 very creative.. ::) So what point are you proving if you don't care for the format to begin with? If you think your message is gonna attract the dance fans not to listen, man that bash was soft. ;D

We get it, you're a rocker, you're frustrated g rock is gone, you're ticked because k rock is gone, geez, get a grip.

Why so much hate ??? Ok I was excited cause I thought it was a commercial station doing dance. Ok the kid spelled beats wrong and is on a low watt station...but obviously he loves it and is enthusiastic about the format and his station. The reason we post here is that we love radio and are interested in it..so why crucify this guy for a little self promotion.

Maybe "d21ofnj" tone it down on the larger than life approach you took with your teaser next time you post and just state what you want people to know cause I think, for some strange reason, you p**sed a few people off.

and Brett,(dancz889)..i love non commercial radio...you know that . I think you get very offended and defensive to quick...when that dude tony s with the dance col. talked about bringing dance to Philly you were all over him and now this. Z889 is big time..Its imaging makes it sound commercial..the frequency is strong, great music, and your air talent has improved. Lets be honest though....a station in Philly decides to flip to dance ,they offer you the same money as you make now to program it...Z889 is already rated in Philly so technically you are already in the market...You wouldn't take the job??? I do think with the way pop and hip hop has been leaning dance some stations will try a "dance "format in the up coming years...maybe in Philly who knows?

Nah, I just dislike hyperbole and giant letters to promote boring crap.

If you read my other posts, you'll notice my 'compassion' for G-rock as well.

Z889 comes in great in the north east and I work in South Philly ,on Front Street, four days a week it comes in fine...the only place it gets staticy is around the bend off Walt Whitman TO the bend onto Front.

You won't have to worry about that for a decade or more. If you get any letters begging you for money, throw them away.

In the car. But when I can't even hear BZC like the other stations in Philly proper, not exactly booming in, is it.

Really...

That's news to my receiver. I'm in South Philly.

Z889 is listened in the Arbitron books as a Philadelphia station. The station has made the books over the past two years. Just because the station doesnt boom in the city proper does not mean the station is not a Philly market station.

I dont know if I would take a commercial job right now. I already work in commercial radio and its not the best time to decide to go into a commercial situation. I love the fact that I can pick music without going through a consultant. We do our research and we stay in touch with whats hot.

The playing field in radio has changed. Non-com is making a move. Ive talked to several advertising agencies and they have all said their customers are more serious about non-coms then ever before. You can get more bang for your buck in the non-com world these days. We need to stop worrying about where a station is on the dial. There are a lot of non-coms that have better signals then the commercial stations.

Tony and I have spoke and he has a better understanding of why I feel the way I do. I get upset because people dont have the facts and say we should have this and that, but dont understand the world of radio

I didnt say we were in this book, I said we have been in the book. This past summer we were in the book. Our ratings go up when we are out and about. We have peaked at 36,000 listeners. You can call Arbitron and ask if you like.

You brought it up...why do I have to ask them? What % of the Philly market is that?

WOR-.1 as of Feb 09-is listed as well-are they a Philly station? They are a station that reaches a part of the Philadelphia market and registers in the book, but it's not a Philadelphia station or a Philly market station.

How about this: You're a NJ station that is on the fringe end of the Philly/NJ suburban metro, and sometimes people listen that have a PPM or a diary.

WOR has a better daytime signal than WBZC in most of the Philly market. In the night, it covers the entire northeast region. Z88.9 is a Burlington County station as noted in its slogan "The Pulse of Burlington County". The 10,000 watts is needed to cover the large county, and it still has dead spots around the Bordentown area and in the extreme southeast part of Burlington County. Its 10,000 watts just happens to make its way to Philadelphia because the laws of physics are not defined by county lines.
Arbitron's ratings are a representative sample of the entire audience. Therefore, a few listeners with PPMs would scale up to the cume of 36,000. That figure is supposed to be an accurate estimation of the cume.
Many regular colleges don't have their own radio station, and it's even rarer for a county college to have a radio station.
