We take customer support seriously. However, both of our audio processing tech support guys (Marty Acuff and Kevin Clayborn) were indeed at NAB, which is something that happens once a year. If you had needed emergency parts to keep you on-air, we could have taken care of you. But when you have a setup question, Marty or Kevin are the people to talk to.
Additionally, we try to put as much relevant info as possible in our manuals. Furthermore, the factory presets were created by Greg Ogonowski and me, and consist not only of the initial sound you get when you recall a factory preset, but also all of the LESS-MORE variants that you get when you adjust at the Basic Control level. Greg and I created these presets very seriously; they are competitive without requiring "tweaking." The tweaks are mainly there to allow the presets to be modified to create a desired signature sound.
Finally, when a customer expresses concern about the sound of his station versus the competition, it is necessary to consider several other important issues. The three main ones are:
--Is your competition overmodulating?
--Is your transmission path (STL and TX) overshoot free?
--Is your modulation monitor accurately calibrated and overshoot-free?
These three issues are extremely important when one is trying to maximize a station's competitiveness.
