That would require CW to get new affiliates in Sacramento, Detroit, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago and Pittsburgh if CW is really serious about signing more sports contracts like NFL, MLB and NASCAR. It would have to be as big as the 1994-1995 deal when New World merged with Fox and converted former CBS affiliates WJW, WAGA, KTSP/KSAZ, KDFW, WITI, KTBC and one former ABC affiliate KTVI into Fox O&O's, and affiliates.
In this case stations like KMAX, WKBD, KBCW, WPCW, WPSG, would go against Sports Broadcasting contracts with the CW because of the CBS Sports contract and they are extensions of the main CBS O&O in those cities.
Sacramento CW would have to be on KTXL-TV 40.2 because 40.1 is a Fox Affiliate owned by Nexstar.
San Francisco KRON-TV gets the CW affiliates because of Nexstar having majority ownership of the CW.
Philadelphia WPHL-TV gets the CW for the same reasons like KRON San Francisco.
Chicago WGN-TV Same reason related to KRON, and WPHL-TV
Detroit WADL-TV? Note I was going to pick WMYD until I read about Scripps considering to get a Sports Broadcasting contract.
Pittsburgh WPNT (Sinclair owned My Network affiliate)
More on target before that was even confirmed. Now as a part of KRON getting the CW affiliation Paramount filed paperwork to the FCC to KPYX. In other words the soon to be former KBCW is going to be named after KPIX CBS Bay area.
