TV-14 (V, L, D) Ratings for Paid Programming(?!)--at least on Comcast?
I don't know if this is a nationwide phenomenon or if it's just a Comcast quirk, but anytime my on-screen guide lists "Paid Programming," it's always had the TV-14 rating and V, L, D designations (V=Intense Violence, L=Strong Coarse Language, D=Intensely Suggestive Dialogue). I've noticed this on Comcast here in Springfield, IL. I know that when he was alive, Billy Mays (RIP) might have been scary when he yelled, plus maybe some "suggestive dialogue" may have inadvertently found its way into the Dean Martin and Hee Haw DVD infomercials
, but I always get a hoot out of this rating for infomercials. (Unless those instances where network programming is preempted in some markets by infomercials causes TV-14esque behavior and language among some viewers
). Anyone else notice this or is it just a local and/or Comcast quirk?
