Incorrect/erroneous program listings

TV-14 (V, L, D) Ratings for Paid Programming(?!)--at least on Comcast?

I don't know if this is a nationwide phenomenon or if it's just a Comcast quirk, but anytime my on-screen guide lists "Paid Programming," it's always had the TV-14 rating and V, L, D designations (V=Intense Violence, L=Strong Coarse Language, D=Intensely Suggestive Dialogue). I've noticed this on Comcast here in Springfield, IL. I know that when he was alive, Billy Mays (RIP) might have been scary when he yelled, plus maybe some "suggestive dialogue" may have inadvertently found its way into the Dean Martin and Hee Haw DVD infomercials :), but I always get a hoot out of this rating for infomercials. (Unless those instances where network programming is preempted in some markets by infomercials causes TV-14esque behavior and language among some viewers :) ). Anyone else notice this or is it just a local and/or Comcast quirk?

I had seen content rating graphics appear on paid commercial programs for WGN America.

Wow! Someone finally admits to watching an infomercial. When I hear "The following is a paid....." the pre-set gets punched......hard.

The Comcast guide can do that for movies too. The Denzel Washington movie Deja Vu is rated PG-13, but the guide has it rated TV-Y!

On a UPN station, I once watched a Winnie the Pooh movie that was rated TV-PG. Or was it TV-!4? Anyway, I felt the need to contact the station and tell them someone messed up. It amazed me that whoever answered the phone wasn't surprised, thinking Winnie the Pooh could be offensive.

By the way, it has been my observation that just because there is a certain rating along with the content indicators, that doesn't mean all the content represented by those indicators is offensive. I've seen, for example, very violent programs with a V and an L, but the bad language was minimal. My feeling was that the violence was SO bad they were letting us know with an additional indicator. Same with sex or dialogue. I've never found any evidence of this observation, but just something to think about.

I've been going through Zap2it's online listings and I saw this about KWGN Denver's newscast:

Channel 2 News at 7:00pm
Northern Nevada's Channel 2 News Team reports live, up-to-the-minute coverage of the latest News.

Maybe they're referring to KTVN Reno.

And on my Comcast on-screen guide, they have descriptions for movies that are different from the ones actually shown, despite having the same title!

What errors have you seen on Zap2it, TitanTV, TVGuide.com or your on-screen guide?

One of the problems we have in non-Navajo Arizona is that when everyone else changes to DST most of our state does not. All the listing get screwed up because some of the sources follow the change and others don't. It usually takes a few weeks for everyone to get corrected. Not sure how 45.2 (Movies) missed the notice but I just submitted an error report last week (mid-summer for most folks) about them being an hour off in their online listings for the Phoenix metro area.

This past Saturday on WCCO CBS at noon the paid program was the Cindy Crawford beauty special

The guide on zap2it and TiVo showed the title and description in Spanish.

(Obvious it was in English)

in general?

Lets see on TitanTV for the Minneapolis market
-they still list WUMN as 13, not 17-1
-on KFTC (Bemidji) which is 26-1 FOX, 26-2 My and 26-3 Movies! they ave same programs listed for 26-1 & 26-2
and they are missing some listings in the rural areas of the Minneapolis market like not having KCCO-DT2 Decades 7-2 (yet they have KCCW 12-2 listed which is another satellite station of WCCO) and both KSAX (Alexandria 42-1) and KRWF (Redwood Falls 43-1) do not have the 2 subchannels listed. Both carry sister station KSTC on their -2 and MeTV on the -3
