Indie 103.1 in LA has signed off; will Pulse87 succumb next?

you know, with all these posts about pulse 87 going off the air and not gonna last any longer, watch these posts backfire and Pulse will stay on the air for a good while. Look at Party 105. That station had some detours with Channelasting, flipped formats, and a threat of being bought out to business talk radio, and now they are simulcasting on 101.5 in Nassau. Plain and simple, Pulse is not going anywhere for a while.

Oh cool it IS on 101.5 ?I thought my radio was broken.

Party 101.5 would reach Queens if there were no pirate station on 101.5. But one day last summer, I noticed Party 101.5 was beaten up by NJ 101.5 less than a mile from Plainview. Well, 105.3 is usually strengthened in Nassau when there's tropo, so it balances out.

In fact, it manages to come in at some locations where the pirate station's signal is nullified, or at times when it's off the air. I've been able to consistently get a weak but somewhat listenable signal of Party on 101.5 along Main Street near the Grand Central Parkway and the LIE in Queens. It's also possible to hear it along the Cross Island Parkway, fighting with the pirate on 101.5.

I don't really think your Dance coalition's job should be considered finished until you get a dance format on one of the signals that covers the whole New York metro.

Actually, even though we may say "New York", we really are about the U.S. as a whole. And even if we do get a current dance station somewhere above 92 that has a strong signal, our job still would not be finished. Not until other cities start launching similar formats and that dance music as a whole gets the same respect as other contemporary genres of music. In order to get that respect we have to fight for it.

Hey, Tony - don't worry about Brian - he OBVIOUSLY doesn't know that you and I have fought VERY hard for our respective genres of music... 8)

Brian is not "hating" Andrea,

He has made valid points about country music fans and I agreed with him. And as far as the coalition goes, even if we get a signal above 92, we're NOT ending.....as long as I'm alive anyway.

oh ok - because to me, Tony, Brian sounded like he was slamming you and the Coalition - I won't stand for that - and i said this a long time ago to you, Tony - i SUPPORT what you and everyone at the Coalition are doing - i would hope and pray that you guys have as much success with getting dance music its proper place in NYC radio and with Pulse as we in the oldies community have continually had with CBSFM...
