Indy needs a Funny Morning Show

Dave Dugan, Pat Carlini, Mark Patrick, Jay Baker....all USED to contribute....all are gone now. Hell, Chick even left once. I don't think you'll find that 'Bob and Tom saving the money for themselves' is the reason ANY of thse individuals left. Ricky Rydell? Can't say. Maybe someone closer to the show can comment. But Flashback's one trick pony needs to be taken to the glue factory. Get over it.
Dave Dugan still contributes regularly to B&T. Ricky Rydell is a full time writer for the show. He co-wrote Camel Toe, Prison Bitch, Man Boobs, Shut Up Randy, etc. Rydell, Tom Griswold and Steve Allee are currently producing songs for the new Donnie Baker cd, due out this summer.

Thanks, IRG. I thought that Ricky was still around...just not in such an apparent day-to-day fashion as the Northside Travel Club days (jeez, I've been listening a long time.) And my comment about Dave was meant in a similar vein, in that he's not a part of the day-to-day. I didn't mean by any stretch to negate the contributions Dave makes on a regular basis, either.

Thanks for the update!

Being a big consumer of radio for years myself. Mornings in Indy are better today than they have been ever. The many morning shows on WZPL over the years, have all been the standard for poor radio. Their current mornings (I think) are very good. They sound like they are having fun as oppose to trying to be funny. This is the best morning show that WZPL has had on since Barry Donovan nearly twenty years ago.The Track too, has a great broadcaster on in the morning. She really does a terrific job and is the best female broadcaster that Indy has had on ever. Say what you will but, Bob and Tom are still the benchmark in Indiana. Also, Jim Denny has been on for many years and him along with Kevin Freeman do a real solid job serving their demo.

Its good to hear that radio management in Indianapolis have finally given up on trying to overtake Bob and Tom. However, radio in Indianapolis is still the worse it has ever been. Radio announcing is indeed a dieing art.

I agree that Ann is wonderful. Nothing short of a top-notch broadcaster to could tackle the many incarnations she has over the past handful of years. She's been a delight on the occasions I have worked with her. She really does "get it" in serving her demo. BTW, I wish her the best of health and luck as she works through a personally tough time.

However, the mantle of "best female broadcaster Indy has ever had" belongs squarely with my WFMS compatriate and [I'm proud to say] longtime friend Vicki Murphy. Not just the best female talent I have ever heard in this market, but the best female talent I have ever heard anywhere...period.

Indy has and has had some excellent female talent, but it doesn't get any better than Vicki.

I agree with Robb...Vicki Murphy is the premiere female talent in Indy. I worked with her at the Bear and I also consider her a friend. I also think that Karen James was one of the best in Indy when she was at WFMS.

Try Bob & Tom. Millions accross America find them very funny.

Millions across America may, but I think fewer Hoosiers do than before syndication.
