Inna

Is anyone here familiar with an artist named Inna? I just discovered her song "Hot" and I love it. She is from Romania and that song was #1 in several Eastern European countries.

I think I first posted about this record back in April

Romania has undoubtedly become the capital of commercial Euro-Dance over the past couple of years. The record that probably put Romania on the map was Ozone's "Dragostea Din Tei".

Inna's other big hit from this year is "Love"

Inna's latest record is titled "Amazing" and like its predecessors is a huge radio hit in Romania

And if that's not enough she's also collaborated on another current hit with Bob Taylor called "Deja Vu"

The guys who produced Inna, Play & Win, have had several releases of their own. Their latest is "Only"

The other big Dance hit coming out of Romania right now is "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina

A big record right now in Romania is Delyno "I Have The World"

You may remember Akcent with their song "Kylie" from a few years ago. They're back with "That's My Name"

Can't forget about Morandi, who are usually in a league of their own. They had a great song called "Angels" last year. Their latest releases are "Save Me" and "Colors"

Another big one from this year is DJ Layla Feat. Alissa "Single Lady"

Residence Deejays "Sexy Love" was another big one this year

A recent big record is David Deejay's "So Bizarre"

Clearly most of these records have a very similar sound. They've taken elements from minimalistic Progrssive House (those pads you hear), and added a lot of commercial Euro melodies and lyrics to them. Many of these songs tend to have the same type of syncopated beat, and similar melodies.

Thanks for all those links. I didn't realize that Romania was the new epicenter of Eurodance, I listened to them all and my two favorites are Inna's "Hot" and "Love". The combination of her powerful, hyperfeminine vocals mixed with the music (yes the beat is very similar on most of these songs) gives a high to my brain. Watching the clips I can't help but notice how beautiful Inna is. I wonder if she will ever have a hit in the U.S,? especially with the recent increased popularity of dance music.
