Inside Edition in Philly

Channel 29 just added this show. Is it also still on WTVE, channel 51 out of Reading? It lists it on their TV listing but I wonder if they actually still carry it.

I think so. And WTVE is now the only station in the area to carry Frasier since the CW57 has dropped it in favor of promoting and showing Seinfeld...

For many years, 'Inside Edition' used to come on after 1:30am in Philly. It was routinely passed over by all stations for daytime/evening clearances. The Philly stations for years were trying to kill it by not airing it, though in other markets it aired at normal times, which probably kept it alive. I think for a short while it was on WGTW but wound back up again on KYW's graveyard shift.

Hearst stations tended to air it in the evening (WBAL has aired it at 7 for years).

It's odd WTXF's sudden interest in it. I suppose it's because it fits with FOX 29 news and TMZ, now, and WTXF wanted some cheap filler without Seinfeld. WTXF will be picking up Dr. Oz and Anderson Cooper, so maybe they exceeded the syndicated budget.

Which is a bit odd since for the longest of times, FOX 29 had been promoting themselves as the "Home of Comedy". Now with barely any comedy programs in their syndication block save for the occasional airing of "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill", I guess that moniker is rather not quite as true anymore. Still, I kinda miss the sitcom blocks considering everything seems to be about media sensationalism and depressing news stories. :-/

I think I read "Modern Family" and "Big Bang Theory" may come to the Fox affiliates (i.e. WTXF) Maybe "Inside Edition" will just get dumped again at 1:30am when deemed convenient.

It seems when it comes to group sitcom buys, Fox 29 is sometimes not part of the buy in recent years. They would have a possible opening at 7:30 or 11 if they didn't want to keep double running the Simpsons (now the stop-gap fill in for Seinfeld).
