Let's check out some stations in South East Asia & the Middle East!
In Malaysia, the main CHR station is Hitz FM 92.9 out of Kuala Lumpur, which is geared mostly towards US Top 40, airing Rick Dees on weekends. It has a pretty good mix of UK/European hits as well. Great DJ's.
A lot of Singapore stations can be picked up as well in Malaysia, like 98.7 FM.
India:
Over in India, some of the cities like New Delhi and Mumbai have stations that occasionally play English language hits (mostly at night) but hardly ever new music. The only CHR/Pop station by international standards would be Radio Indigo 91.9 which has broadcasts from both Bangalore and Goa. This station airs American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest on weekends and has a good variety of US/UK hits. Also plays a decent amount of recurrents from the late '90s/2000s.
Dubai:
The main CHR station in Dubai at the moment is Virgin Radio 104.4.
Another good station in Dubai is 104.8 Channel 4 FM, which mostly followed the CHR format ever since its debut in 1997, but recently became more of a Hot AC station. It used to go by the slogan "Today's Hit Music", now it goes by the slogan: "No. 1 for music variety". Even though it gears towards Hot AC, it still airs AT40 on weekends which Virgin Radio does not.
The oldest English language station in Dubai is Dubai 92. During the '80s and '90s this station played mostly CHR but also aired a great variety of syndicated radio shows like Rick Dees, The World Chart Show, Out of Order with Jed the Fish (an alternative rock countdown), The Weekly Country Music Countdown, On The Radio, The Cut and some other shows as well. This station has since become much more AC oriented and has dropped all those syndicated shows.
