IS 105.7 GOING TO CHANGE???

Do you guys think this station is going to flip during the holiday's? Something has gotta give again in this dismal wretched market.

If CC can sell it in combo with or an add on to with 96.1 NO! Can they? The October ratings will tell.

I thought I heard they were going Christmas sometime in November, and then flip to all or classic hits after Christmas????

CC would ordinarily probably want to get a few books in before making a decision re: Wild long-term, but there's only one book left (the October book first week of November) before they would have to make a decision if they want to do all-Christmas RIGHT and get the most ratings. I suppose they could wait for the November book first week of December, but that would suggest a mail-in approach leading to a flip and not the pursuit of big Christmas ratings, since B and Fish will probably have been in Christmas mode for a while by then and it's going to be tough to get folks to change the dial at that point.

IIRC stations get the ratings weekly if they pay to get them in PPM. Since the music is either on a server or PC a "change could happen in hours." I sure CC has an ALL Christmas format somewhere and they can "transfer" the file via the internet really fast if needed. Voice overs can be cut in hours. The real slow down to any flip is getting the sales folks to notify clients. Once this happens all the stations in the market will know with in a day.

Most Clear Channel stations that go all-Christmas, whether they use it during their normal format or not, use Premium Choice's all-Christmas feed. They could easily whip up a "Christmas 105.7" logo (or something like that, just anything is better than that horrid WiLD logo) and website, load PC, get some local cut ins, boom. That's all they need on-air for all-Christmas.

Hmmm? Afternoons and Nights and some weekend hours are local. They are promoting POWER 96.1's JingleBall 12/12/12 at Phillips.

5 more days too find out if 105.7 will change i think it will be on Haloween Night they flip too christmas Music
clear channel did that a few years ago too 100.3 the beat in st louis

I've always wondered if this is what stations were doing when they delivered two somewhat similar formats within the same market aimed at two different main groups of demographics instead of simply trying to earn higher ratings with one station combining both formats. I still wish ClearChannel had control of top 40 and CBS had control of rhythmic in Atlanta instead of both being ClearChannel. I also wish Q100 was still under their previous owner. As far as the WiLD logo, I like it as is, although I'm sure there are other designs that may also be acceptable as well.

By the way, if Power 96.1 keeps adding in things like Lil Wayne ft Drake, then odds are that Power will take place of WiLD by going rhythmic pop and carrying a rhythmic pop sound similar to how WiLD sounded before they shifted back to full rhythmic. I guess Power 96.1 and Q100 could be enough for now........ but unless one of the the 27 urbans pick up a few rhythmic hits, some things may still pass by undetected by Atlanta hits radio.

If WiLD flips and Q100 keeps sounding as adult as they are these days, Power 96.1 will surely have a lot of work to do when it comes to delivering both the full top 40 AND rhythmic sound by themselves.

Luckily for Q100, hit music is going more towards a pop rock direction. However, since Q100 hass already been sounding adult, a sudden pop rock (and eventually alternative) resurgence will only make them sound a lot more like Star 94 than they have always sounded, especially if that is the next sound to dominate the charts.

would it be similiar to Clear Channel in NYC with Z100 and KTU?

New York has a much larger Hispanic population than Atlanta. I think that's one reason why Z100 and KTU, whose CHR Rhythmic format appeals to Latinos, can coexist in that market. I doubt that's going to be the case with Power 96-1 and Wild.

They've actually been taking Z100 in a more pop/rock direction lately - but the large Hispanic/Asian population in NYC is what allows both KTU and Now 92.3 to coexist in that market

CC also owns a CHR and a rhythmic in Boston, which has a smaller Hispanic population than Atlanta. Both are doing pretty well in the 6+ books. I think they can live together, even though I'd rather see Alternative or Adult Hits in this market.

This is different though - we're talking about a CHR that leans Rhythmic coexisting with a sister Rhythmic station - not just a middle-of-the-road CHR and a Rhythmic

Also, Boston doesn't have any Urbans, so the Rhythmic gets almost every minority by default

Anybody here know a direct way for me to get a hold of new CCU Atlanta market manager Matt Scarano? I've left messages with his work VM and email, as well as his admin assistant over the past seven weeks and he won't even give me the courtesy of a response to tell me he doesn't want to talk to me. I'd like to hear that directly from him at least. I promise I will keep who told me this info 100% confidential. Email me at [email protected], FB me or text me if you know my cel. no.

Just write something "not positive" about CC Atlanta, fax or Email a copy before publishing to CC both here and headquarters in Texas, then put in the end of the piece that you can not get in touch Matt Scarano for CC's side and he will not even answer you that he does't want to talk or email you an answer. Somebody in Texas will give you an answer.

Anybody know much about Matt? What's he like? I know he worked a long time as GSM for Kicks/Eagle from 1998 to 2009. A possible reason he's avoiding me is the Dean Hallam episode a decade ago. When Moby was let go from Kicks in August, 2002, the PD Dean Hallam told me on the record, "Listeners told us, 'We're proud to be Southern, ' but if you listened to Moby's dialect, it didn't reflect the average Atlantan today." Dean was fired soon after and until his death, Dean blamed me for losing his job. Since then, I hear folks in general at Kicks have been told to keep a good distance from me.
