IS 105.7 GOING TO CHANGE???

Anybody know much about Matt? What's he like? I know he worked a long time as GSM for Kicks/Eagle from 1998 to 2009. A possible reason he's avoiding me is the Dean Hallam episode a decade ago. When Moby was let go from Kicks in August, 2002, the PD Dean Hallam told me on the record, "Listeners told us, 'We're proud to be Southern, ' but if you listened to Moby's dialect, it didn't reflect the average Atlantan today." Dean was fired soon after and until his death, Dean blamed me for losing his job. Since then, I hear folks in general at Kicks have been told to keep a good distance from me.

It might not flip. There is an old business saying; it is better to cut your own throat than to have some else do it for you. With two signals 96.1 and the 105.7 and 96.7 combo they could really go after both ends of Q100 simi CHR demo. But this is also the cluster that took WGST off of 105.7, killed Peach / lite 94.9 during Christmas!, never replaced the Regular Guys on 96.1 insuring 96 Rock's death. IMHO, If they were just going after $$$ they would All Christmas 105.7 / 96.7 then flip 12:01 AM Dec. 26th to what ever: ESPN (English)? I hope not.

Because they want Power 96 to take a commanding lead over Q100 and everyone else in the ATL CHR market and don't want a sister cannibalizing it???

5th place isn't necessarily "doing well"

Also, Power has been backing off of most pop/rock stuff (even Fun which is currently #3 CHR) - essentially, it's what Wild was playing a few months ago, only on a stronger signal - don't see how Wild is still necessary

Advertisers prefer demo rankings over 6+ numbers and being 5th 18-34 is quite sellable. The wild card here is is Wild preventing Power from being even higher 18-34? If so, CC has some math to do. Belittle Wild's demo numbers all you want, but 99x hasn't been top 5 in demo since it's mostly 90's playlist was new rock.

According to the logic presented above, a station could have a 0.2 share, be in 5th place 18-34, and still be a "good sell"

If this were a Cumulus station dropping like a rock, I can't even imagine how many posters would be calling for a format change

It all depends on how long the Cumulus station was around, whether or not it was filling a void, and whether or not the new Cumulus station sucked. If it were a new Cumulus station playing hits and they were the first station to do so in Atl. I think most of us would be just as excited about it. I also don't think anyone is or would call for Q100 to change because that would, once again, limit the mainstream chr choices to ONE (although some believe that B98.5 and Star 94 are chrs...)

If an ATL station had a 0.2 share 18-34 it wouldn't be ranked 5th, it wouldn't even rank in the top 30, comment is illogical.
a top 3 market rank in any demo =$, being 5th isn't horrible however.
