Is 93.7 Mike FM Flipping to Smooth Jazz?

they are not Criminals @WLYNGM

If you listen to their station, you would know they are doing good for the community.

They can be the best servants of the community on record anywhere anytime...and it doesn't change the fact that operating a radio station without a license and outside of what's permitted in Part 15 is a violation of Section 301 of the Communications Act (47 USC §301)...a criminal act which can be (and is, although rarely) punished with federal prison time.

One doesn't excuse the other.

The real listenners that listen to radio (that radio companies and ratings don't get to) are people who work in Salons, Bus Drivers, My neighbors, My Uncle who speak very limited English who also love Smooth Jazz he is about 48 years old, Students at such Colleges such as Berkley School of Music, Church People, People who work in Convience Stores. Some of these people do don't know about ratings and don't know how to participate in to send ratings to these companies. Some of these people don't have time to fill out 50 questions that ratings require
All these people care about is to listen to the ir music that they like.
When I go back to work, if I asked my three coworkers who like Smooth Jazz, if I ask them would they be interested to fill out a Ratings form, their responce will be "I don't have time for that" or their reply might be something like "I don't listen to the radio anymore because the stations never stay the same" These are an example of the responce you might get from these (real listeners)

The real listeners of Smooth Jazz and Urban AC are as I just stated in that above paragraph. Also, the other real listeners are people of other countries (example) People from Haiti, Laos, Guatemala, China, Caribbean, Japan... That's an example. Some of these people speak very little English and are forgotton to help with ratings.

Radio Companies, Program Directors......etc needs to see this and just give Boston some radio station of this sort. At this time, all the Boston listenners want is a good radio station. Just give Boston the radio station. All those volunteers who work at Touch 106.1, Big City 101.3 hire them. They do many good things for the community. Greater Media, Entercom, CBS... should look into this matter. It's sad to see Boston with no (true) 24/7 Smooth Jazz/Urban Ac station. I'm not talking about College Stations either. I'm talking about a Major radio station.
We don't need six rock stations, three Soft Rock stations, and three CHR stations, and four HOT AC stations.
We have NO (true) 24/7 Smooth Jazz/Urban AC station here in Boston.

My current coworkers said they'd listen to a new station like that if it was here in Boston, maybe not listen everyday, but when they had time (as I just said) some of the responces you might get is people don't listen to radio because it change like water.

Radio Companies and Programming Management needs to look into this matter and do something about this and get us the station that we deserve and that everyone will love and enjoy.
TRUST ME, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE WILL GET ONE OF THESE STATIONS.

No, you won't. How many times does this have to be explained to you? SJ is a three-time loser in this market. For that reason alone, no radio company will touch it.

NOTICE: LESSON IN BROADCAST INDUSTRY ECONOMICS FOLLOWS...

You're aiming at the wrong people. Programmers do not determine a station's format. Upper management does...and since radio is, first and foremost, a BUSINESS, you will need to convince upper management that SJ/UAC will be profitable for them, over and above their stations' current formats. BTW, did I already mention that SJ was tried THREE times in the Boston market, and failed every single time? Yes, I guess I did. Why is that, do you think? Correct answer (the ONLY correct answer): It didn't make money. It really is true: Three strikes and you're out.

BTW, since when does anyone NEED radio? If you like a certain genre of music so much, buy a CD...download songs...buy an iPod. What law is there that says you have to listen to your favorite music on radio? Further, do you think for one minute that your pet formats are the only ones radio stations ignore? You obviously don't understand why there are so many stations running the formats you claim "we don't need." Think about it for a minute, and then refer to the previous paragraph.

Lesson over.

Actually there is a market for Smooth Jazz here, but just not in the high enough profits that the suits would like to see.

Well, what constitutes "a market" then?

If it's not enough to substantiate the assett/capital, then is there "a market" (your words) for it?
