Is a rhythm hitting Miami?

97.3 is doing well, though I'm not too keen on calling them a Rhythmic AC. They sound like a Hot AC with a slight Rhythmic lean.

With that being said, WFLC (along with WKTU) are more timely when it comes to defining the Hot AC sound, in my opinion. Too many Hot ACs either overload on 2000s "pop rock", 2010s slower tempo "singer songwriter" tracks, or country music. And it can get stale.

Even a lot of Canadian Hot ACs are Rhythmic friendly. Check out CHUM-FM, CING, and CKZZ. Although there are some Hot ACs like CKCE that are more "pop rock" friendly, but the "pop rock" nevertheless consists of familiar songs from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, rather than something like Colbie Caillat. Yet CKCE can play Rhythmic-leaning songs if they are big hits.
