Is anybody listening to kndd this morning?

The two new guys may be one of the worst shows i've ever heard. Does anybody know what station these guys are from? Is radio really in this hard of a spot?

I have officially quit listening to KNDD. I respect Entercom for putting the money into stations like KISW and KMTT to make them sound good. But in my opinion, if they refuse to put the money in to make a heritage station like KNDD successful again, then they should be forced to sell the station to an owner that would be. Granted entercom owns the frequency, but public airwaves should always be used to best serve the public, and I don't feel you accomplish that by playing mediocre music and hiring jocks straight out of college and putting them into AM drive in Market 14.

1.No one was
2.What semester is the Dynamic Duo in at Green River CC? ;D
3.I guessing that 'TMZ fueled' radio always wins! :D

I'm not sure what you mean about Entercom putting money in to KMTT to make them sound good...The Mountain is live only M-F from 6A-7PM...nothing live at nights or overnights or the entire weekend. They have indeed spent money on staffing The Rock tho. And I whole heartedly agree about the (sic) staff at The End...they aren't good enough for market #133 let alone #13.

I havent listened to KNDD consistently since Andy Savage left their airwaves. I looked on their website and it still lists Corolla as their morning show. Whats up?

I was comparing them to the End. To their credit, they have kept John Fisher on board, brought back Shawn Stewart, and hired Jodi to help Marty Reimer in mornings instead of having him fly solo. They could have easily had Marty handle mornings by himself and found replacements for Shawn and John at a fifth of their salary. But they saw the importance of having talent on board that Seattle has listened to over the years.

Agreed about keeping John and adding Jodi, it's just that a few years ago, I thought they were a GREAT AAA station and now just a shell of their former self. I think John is a major force and could get hired Anywhere, USA.

I was listening on the weekend the other day and had to change the channel. Whoever the girl was that was on sounded like she's never done radio in her life.

However, I did hear a guy with a thick accent who sounded great. Still a bit green, however the accent was fun to listen to!

You mean there are new morning hosts yet nothing on the station's site and no "coming soon" promos during the final days of Carolla where I'm sure many (like me) were ready and waiting to hear what they were going to do next?

Sounds like a real vote of confidence for "the two new guys".

I punched in this morning and heard some track I didn't recognize. If their plan is to play music in the morning along with "the two new guys" they've lost me for good.

My take is "the two new guys" are getting an on-air audition until KNDD makes up their mind on what they want to do...which is why they're not calling a lot of attention to the new show.

What would I like to hear in the morning there? Andy Savage would be a welcome and familiar voice. I'm waiting now for the Robin & Maynard fan(s?) to make his(their?) annual appearance.

one of the weekend jocks stated that these guys are "temporary" when their show was announced on sunday...

Still appalled that a station in market #14 can't afford to pay talent that's not still enrolled in community college.

I tuned in from about 7:10-7:30 and flipped as soon as they talked about "well, we have to pay some bills" and went to commercial. I kept waiting for the early 90s grunger to get to his point about Kurt Cobain, etc. but he never did. The co-host needed to move things along.

It was so painful I didn't stay. Glad someone else caught the change.

Duh... heh-heh... heh-heh... I... heh-heh... tried to listen... heh-heh... but clicked off the radio in disgust, instead. Those two jokers sounded one step above Beavis & Butthead. (Hey, kids, always remember: When reading a car sponsor's commercial, be sure to talk about some sort of "flammability problem" in your cute comments right afterward.).

One of them, some kid named "Pounder," apparently does 10-2 -- having parlayed his vast experience at GRCC into a KNDD internship and then a midday show. The other guy sounded like a buddy of Pounder's that he sneaked into the studios so that they could spin dials, flick switches and "play DJ."

Adam may not have been the best possible host, but he was light years ahead of these clowns.

Just for giggles, how about filling the mornings with reruns of the Flashback show until you can find some actual talent?

Had to listen this morning after seeing this thread. Wow where to start. First let me give credit to the Supersuckers guy for being a guest host. It's obvious he has no radio experience, but it seems he has a good head on his shoulders. It's just that every break was about him. "I went to have breakfast with my wife and kid....", "I was touring in Norway...", "I was hanging out with this artist..." How about a topic that affects your audience in some capacity? I spent 3 hours listening to them online and was not aware the P-I was printing their last edition today until I heard Marty and Jodi talking about it on the Mountain.

I've got to blame this quarter-pounder guy or the PD for this. Let the host know that listeners might actually stick around when you are discussing topics that matter to them. Then take it a step further. If you are talking about the P-I shutting down, get some employee at the P-I on the phone and chat with them. It isn't rocket science. Plus at some point the host was comparing a song that just played to the 80's song "Life in a Northern Town" and neither knew the bands name. Did either think of glancing at the master playlist or in the computer database? The song has been played numerous times on the End over the years. Do the legwork and then you don't sound clueless on the air.

I understand this is a temporary thing, but for anyone that is given an opportunity like this, do WHATEVER it takes to prove you belong. It might not get you this gig, but it might open up other opportunities for your career down the road.

Did the 'hosts' even know who the Supersuckers are?My guess is they were 7 or 8 when the band ruled this town.Who's in charge there anyway? What's their CV?

The lead singer was the host. Anybody have an idea on how long there will be "guest hosts" before a permanent show is in place?

Harsh cowboys
Got a chance to hear the show while I was on the road this morning and it kinda sounded like the Luke Burbank show on KIRO :-\
Ain't my cup of radio coffee but it probably fits the END to have an "anti-radio" sound. Lot's music and people chatting that are in the target and that ain't all bad. The END is taking a non-radio feel and maybe that is overdue :-\ Same comments were made about Monti and Brooke over at MOVIN and the ladies much bigger ratings that Jacky and Bender and last couple of trends beat T-Man in 25-54 boys and girls 8) Seems this town is not comfortable with new, like Fitz now beating KMPS, MOVIN's Morning show and this rotating hosts thang on the END. It worked for me in that it appeals to that audience, if that makes lemonade out of lemons, so be it 8)

Eddie Spaghetti? WTF??.........

Eddie Spaghetti? WTF??.........

It's terrible, BW, seriously. I heard about 5 minutes today and thought "WTF? Why isn't this co-host competent at moving things along?"

Sorry "take it from me" but I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I'm all for music, but do something like KNRK does - Greg Glover is relatable, plays 80s alt (that's a concept... if you're going to put an early grunger on, play music from *then*) and new music while doing some good stuff - The Daily Show minute, talks about his cat/pets, runs an excellent themed 8 @ 8 commercial free... etc. etc. Makes sense as their other music stations in the cluster are talkers (well, were, until Skippy and dr. Doug got fired), and the cross-town CBS owned rocker was a talker [Stern - then Carolla - now moved popular Rick Emerson from 970 AM to 101.1 KUFO)

Not too bad a blogger either. http://www.947.fm/pages/2643769.php
